Rosie's is a small, family-run boarding service in Westclyst, Exeter, for guinea pigs and other small pets. We started in September 2026 and keep numbers low on purpose, so every guest gets proper time, care and attention. We have two guinea pigs of our own, so we know what a happy, settled one looks like, and we treat your pets the way we treat ours. The whole family is involved in the day-to-day care.

Accommodation:

Every guest has their own clean, comfortable housing, with indoor space overnight. Pets from different households are never housed together, and each group has its own equipment. Guinea pigs stay in spacious C&C-style pens, approx. 1mx1m. Rats, mice, gerbils and hamsters are housed in your cage or ours, kept indoors in the house. We move their housing around to keep them appropriately warm or cool. The property is secure and private.

Exercise:

Guinea pigs enjoy our enclosed lawn and spacious outdoor runs (weather permitting), with plenty of room to explore, forage and stretch their legs. They tend to stay outside for most of the day in covered, predator-proof runs. Small rodents get time out-of-cage throughout the day for 30mins - 1 hour, depending on the species and what suits them.

Health & Hygiene:

We check on every guest several times a day, with fresh food, hay and water each day and clean housing throughout the stay. Guest pets are kept separate from each other and from our own animals to reduce the spread of illness. Please let us know on the booking form if your pet is unwell or has any health needs, and give us your vet's details and an emergency contact. If we're ever worried about a guest, we'll contact you straight away and arrange vet care if needed. We don't offer grooming.

Small Pet Boarding Prices

Guinea pigs: £10 per night for one, £15 per night for two sharing. Rats, mice, gerbils and hamsters: £6 per night if you bring your own cage, £9 per night in one of ours. You're welcome to bring your pet's usual food, which helps avoid tummy upsets. If you'd rather we provide it, just let us know in advance. Payment on pick-up by bank transfer or cash (preferred).
