About our Home Boarding

Hi, I'm Marisa. I have owned dogs for more than 40 years. I have competed at the highest level in Obedience, bred 2 Obedience Champions (one of whom won Crufts in 2006), run my own dog training club for 18 years, worked for The Kennel Club, had over 300 articles published in the canine press and also written a book on dog training. I'm fully licenced, insured, canine first aid trained and dbs checked.

Dogs live in the house as part of the family and also have their own individual rooms for mealtimes and sleeping in, unless they would prefer to sleep in my bedroom of course. They are free to follow me round during the day, they will romp on the dog field with their friends, and we all cuddle up on the sofa in the evening following a tiring but fun day. My home is set in over an acre of land which is surrounded by 6ft fencing with electronic gates and cctv to ensure your dog's safety and security. All internal gates are also 6ft high and double bolted.

I'm very fortunate to have my own large fully maintained dog field right here at home, so dogs are exercised in complete safety with no worries about recalls, nuisance dogs or the risk of dog theft/poisoned bait being eaten. We go on the field at least twice per day. The field is mown twice weekly and contains hay bales, log stumps, paddling pools and agility equipment for your dog to enjoy. I also have a very large carpeted canine games room with a range of activities for them to enjoy eg flyball jumps, weave poles, a ball pit, licki mats, stuffed kongs etc

Health & Hygiene:

As per Defra and council regulations, we require dogs to have a current vaccination status/titre test results and to be up to date with flea and worm treatments. A copy of your dog's vaccination card will be held on file, as required by the council. We have an arrangement with our vets for them to provide treatment and emergency care for our client dogs, and I also hold a canine first aid certificate. We have a fridge in the dedicated dog kitchen where medication can be stored as well as a canine first aid kit.

Having started to use Marisa recently, I have found her to be very professional, knowledgeable and only too keen to make my dogs daycare a pleasure and relaxing for Heidi. Marisa also gives Heidi, who is a Basset pup, 1 to 1 training once a week at a very reasonable cost. I could not praise this service enough and would recommend it to anyone
