About our Home Boarding

Our love of dogs started over 40 years ago when we had our first Rescue dog, and after that came our passion & love of Dalmatians & Chinese Crested Hairless dogs.

For a few years, we volunteered with Dalmatian Rescue, vetting homes, and fostering Dalmatians (to assess them before they went to their new homes).

Most of our dogs have been from Rescue Organizations, and over the past 35 years, we have fostered (temporarily & permanently) many dogs (including Crossbreeds, Belgian Shepherd, Spaniel, Chinese Crested & Dalmatians - one of whom was blind from birth), lots of whom went on to permanent loving homes.

I have been a trainer at several Dog Obedience Training Clubs in past years, and competed with my dogs Sam & Cid, in Obedience Competitions. I have also shown Cid, one of our Dalmatians, and Lennie, our Chinese Crested, at Breed Shows (including Crufts) in the 1990's.

Sadly we have lost all of our own dogs now to old age, so we really enjoy having our dog guests to stay.

Accommodation:

For home from home Dog Boarding or Daycare for your precious canine friend, whilst you enjoy your holiday without any worries, look no further than Dalavon Doggy Daycare - where your dog will be treated as one of the family, whether it's for short, or long stays with us, and, your pet is NEVER left alone.

We were in Crynant for 8 years, licensed by NPT Council & moved to Coelbren in March 2024, and now licensed by Powys Council, and insured by Protectivity.

Dogs have always been part of our family, and your dog(s) will be treated the same, with lots of love and attention, and home comforts too. Our dog guests are allowed to sit on the settee with us, unless an owner specifically requests that they do not do that.

Exercise:

We are just inside the Brecon Beacons National Park and have nearly an acre of secure grounds, including woodland for the dogs to explore.

Health & Hygiene:

All dogs must be vaccinated, with boosters fully up to date (including yearly Kennel Cough vaccinations), as well as regular Flea and Worming treatment. Proof will be required.

Isla and Skye had a lovely time at the weekend at Dalavon, they were so relaxed when we picked them up. It was my puppy Skyes first time, he is only 11 weeks old and requires a lot of care training and attention, which he got from Sue and Craig especially as my puppy cant yet hold his bladder all night. A massive thank you to you both, for the kindness and care of my dogs. I love seeing the pics and videos online too, it helps me stop missing them. Highly recommended everyone.

I have used Dalavon Doggy Daycare for short and long stays for my golden retriever. I would recommend Sue and Craig 100%. My dog is treated as a family member while staying with them and I absolutely love the facebook updates about what Lottie has been doing while she is there. The local facilities for the dog walks while she's staying with Dalavon are excellent and Lottie is always happy to be left there for her holidays.
