We are a small family run cattery on a smallholding in the delightful village of Llannon which is situated in the tranquil surroundings of Carmarthenshire, approximately 10 miles equal distance from Swansea and Carmarthen. Just five minutes off the M4 and A48.

Our aim is to provide a 5 star luxurious and caring environment for each of our fluffy guests with breath taking views over the rolling beauty of the Welsh countryside.

We like to pamper our guests and provide them with the holiday experience! With seven cats of our own we fully understand the concern that all of our owners have when faced with leaving their beloved pets behind when they go away.

We endeavour to create a loving and relaxing experience for your cherished pets. This is what we would want for our own fluffy bundles and this is why we strive to offer exactly that for yours!

We also offer large airy purpose built houses with individual runs for your small pets such as rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs etc. in their very own Small Pets Corner, we love them all!

Accommodation:

Our retreat is purpose built to the highest specifications with safety, luxury and comfort being our priorities for our guests! We happily provide 5* accommodation for our fluffy friends and ensure that they're fully entertained throughout their stay with individual cat trees and hammocks in every chalet. Our Retreat is set in its own grounds with breath taking views over the beautiful rolling Welsh countryside. The grounds have been carefully landscaped and incorporate a variety of bird baths and bird feeding stations purely for the entertainment of our guests!

Our small pets corner also has large airy purpose built luxury houses with individual runs complete with a selection of toys and treats.

Our chalets are compliant with the Feline Advisory Bureau (FAB) standards and The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) Our chalets have also been purpose built and designed with the comfort and safety of our special guests being paramount…

We are fully licensed by Carmarthenshire County Council. We are also recommended and approved by Brian Cotter M.V.B., M.R.C.V.S. of Emerald Vets Practice, Tumble.
Each spacious individual wooden chalet is fully lined with impervious material for hygiene and cleanliness and thermally insulated with individually thermostatically controlled heat panels to cater for all extremes of weather. We also have a small indoor cattery with double chalets incorporating everything that we have in the main retreat, for those individuals who would prefer to be totally enclosed.

Each chalet has two adjustable shelves within the sleeping area with a fully opening window leading out onto a sunning shelf which leads to a ladder down into a large individual exercise run which is fully wired for security. There is a further sunning shelf next to the safety corridor to enable your fluffy friend an even closer look at the outside world and wildlife! For those of our residents who would like another route both in and out of their accommodation area there is also a cat flap at the bottom of the full height doorway.

Full height clear sneeze barriers are provided to prevent the spread of any possible infection and this also allows our guests a ‘birds eye view (!)’ of everything that is going on both within the retreat and the surrounding area outside! For those who would like a little more privacy, or are particularly nervous or shy guest, an opaque partition can be put in place for that individual to keep everyone happy!! All of our chalets are a large double size, comfortably accommodating two cats each.
We also have the option of being able to open an adjoining door on either end of the block which opens up to create two very large family chalets. Each exercise area also has a natural wood activity tree incorporating several beds and scratching posts. Our guests also have the option of flopping onto a relaxing sun hammock to chill out on!

Both the exercise area and the safety corridor have twin wall polycarbonate roofing which reflects the heat away in the summer and helps to contain the warmth in the winter. This also creates a lovely light and airy environment and is as close to having outside access as possible!
The whole retreat has removable exterior weather protectors which allow a gentle breeze to blow through the unit during nice weather and ensures a cosy retreat for our guests during any inclement weather. Even though the retreat is in very close proximity to our house, to ensure overall safety and assurance we also operate a CCTV system to keep a constant eye on our guests!! So any wild parties will be noted immediately!!

Health & Hygiene:

Vaccination cards must be provided. We are fully licenced and are recommended and approved by Emerald Vets of Tumble.
We also offer a collect and return service if required.

Boarding Cattery Prices

OPENING TIMES:

MONDAY - FRIDAY
10am to12 noon
4.3 pm to 6pm.

SATURDAY
11am to 1pm
4.30pm to 6pm.

SUNDAY
12 noon to 2pm only.

Open for normal boarding on Bank Holidays, Christmas Eve and New Years Eve but no drop off or collections on these days.

If you need to visit us outside these hours please ring to make an appointment and we will try our best to accommodate you.

Prices

Double chalet, per day:

1 cat – £8.50,

2 cats sharing ( same family) – £15.00,

3 cats – £20.00,

4 cats – £25.00

This includes all food and insurance. However please feel free to bring your cats favourite food and bed with you if you so wish. Any prescribed diets must be provided by the owner.

For Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day a 50% premium will be added to the above charges.

A 25% Deposit will be politely requested at time of booking for first time customers.

For bookings which include Christmas Day and Boxing Day, a 4 week cancellation period will apply (rather than the normal 2 weeks).

Reviews from Our Guests

We've used several catteries over the years, for several cats! This one is the best yet It is, in fact, a cat hotel. The "rooms" are large and spacious with lovely views over the countryside and an abundance of birds of the flying variety to watch. Our Gwenno was very content in her very own room, which was on different levels so that she could perch or hide, as she wished. She had a warm place to sleep and an adventure playground all to herself. The owners, Angela and David are animal lovers and take time to get to know the cats. Gwenno needs medication twice a day, so we had to find a special place, and this is it. Within a couple of days we were reassured through Facebook that Gwenno had settled, and from the accompanying photo we could see that she was fine. She returned home full of beans and very happy. This will definitely be Gwenno's home from home when we go away again. Wonderful place, would definitely recommend to others, in fact we have already done so. Diolch yn fawr Angela a David.
