About our Small Pet Boarding

We board: Hamsters, Mice etc.

Hello! I’m Emily. I made the decision to offer small pet boarding after finding it difficult to locate any suitable boarding for my hamsters. Having had 19 hamsters in total over the years (I can’t believe I’ve had 19!), I know just how important it is to have someone who not only understands how small animals differ from larger ones, but also has been there, done it and got the t-shirt!

I have owned Syrian, Russian Dwarf and Roborovski hamsters, as well as pet sitting others (including other small animals such as lovely gerbils!).

For other animal fun facts about me, I share a horse, regularly volunteer at a dog rescue and adore looking after my partner's cat (not kept at the boarding location). Essentially, animals consume every minute of my free time and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Accommodation:

I have a 100x50cm Bucastate metal and acrylic cage available for pets whose cages are too big to transport. I can supply basics for this, but boarders will need to provide accessories for their pet's stay! If selecting this option, there is an additional £10 charge to cover the cost of bedding for the cage (mixture of Aubiose, Megazorb and paper bedding).

However, it is preferable for pets to come in their own cages for comfort!

Your lovely pet will be kept in a completely separate room from my hamsters. Feeding times will be adhered to as per what works best with your current routine, with fresh water refilled everyday. I am happy to spot clean/clean burrows if required.

Exercise:

I have a pet-safe free roaming space for any pets that would like to free roam/stretch their legs! Free roaming is always offered but is tailored to the individual pet and their needs.

Health & Hygiene:

I am happy to administer oral medication and topical treatments if needed. Boarding pets are kept in a separate room to my hamsters and never come into contact with my pets during their visit.

I will always take a pet to the vets if they are in need of vet attention. Full details on vet care is provided on the boarding agreement.
