About our Small Pet Boarding
RabbitsGuinea PigsBirdsReptilesHamsters, Mice etc.FerretsWe are based in Frome, boarding guinea pigs and smaller animals in our temperature-controlled log cabin. I have kept animals all my life, including Guinea pigs, gerbils, hamsters and a bearded dragon.
We are passionate about animal care and together have owned and cared for many animals of all sizes and temperaments over the years. Your pet will be cared for as one of our own, with love and attention.
Accommodation:
Our log cabin is next to our house, it is quiet and cosy, with plenty of daylight through the windows.
We have 2 indoor rabbit areas, with 4.5 metres hop space each.
We provide guinea pig hutches, rat/ferret.dengu/large bird cages, and, for other animals, we have plenty of space for them to be boarded in their own housing. The log cabin is heated in the winter and cooled in the summer.
Bedding hay and sawdust is provided. Daily fresh vegetables are included.
Exercise:
We have enclosed outdoor runs for the warmer months for guinea pigs. Guinea pigs will all get exercise outside every day weather permitting.
Rabbits have 4.5m of hop length indoors.
All animals will get enrichment activities, and cuddles and attention – if they want it!
Health & Hygiene:
Hutches, housing and bowls will be kept clean every day, thoroughly cleaned weekly and disinfected between occupants. Disposable toys and enrichment will be single use.
If your pet becomes unwell we will contact you and arrange vet care as needed.
Small Pet Boarding Prices
Rabbits (from Oct '26): One: £12 £1 extra per bonded rabbit, up t04.
Guinea pig One: £8. £1 extra per GP up to 3.
Rats:One £8. £1 extra per rat in same cage.
GP and rats - £2 discount a day if providing own cage and bedding
Hamster / mice / gerbils: £5 per cage if 3 or less occupants
Small birds: £5 in own cage.
Larger birds: Please enquire.
Other small animals please contact us to ask, we are open to many animals, if you can provide accommodation.

Bryony looked after two budgies for us while we were on holiday. She took the time to find out about Bluebelle and Willow, their likes, food requirements and care needs and made sure the environment was suitable for them (including providing a smart speaker to keep them entertained!). Bryony sent us regular WhatsApp videos while we were away, showing how happy they were in their holiday home. I would highly recommend Bryony and we will certainly be using her services again.

Our two guinea pigs had a lovely time at Furhaven. Bryony kept us up to date with all their antics, sending daily photos and videos, and they enjoyed lots of cuddles and interesting additions to the hutch. The facilities are very well set up with spacious hutches, outdoor exercise and air conditioning - very reassuring in a heatwave. Bryony was quick to respond to messages and felt like a safe pair of hands. We will definitely be visiting Furhaven again - thank you!

Bryony took great care of our four rats. Communication was great. She let me have a look around and discuss needs. She is lovely and send us updates while we were away. Rates very reasonable and she was flexible when our plans changed. I will be using Furhaven again this summer for all my ratty holidays!

We are very happy with the excellent service. We left our little Shelly at this boarding house during the holiday period and received regular photographs and videos showing her activities.
