About our Small Pet Boarding

We’re passionate about animals and are fortunate to share our home with four gorgeous cats, Kune-Kune pigs, Shetland geese, bees, and a wonderful variety of chickens, including Silkies, Pekins, Olive Eggers, Welsummers, Marans, Araucanas, Bluebells and Silkie crosses.

Although we’re just beginning our journey into small animal boarding, caring for animals is already a big part of our everyday lives. Every guest entrusted to us will be treated with the same kindness, attention and high standard of care that we give to our own animals.

Our aim is simple: to provide a safe, comfortable and caring home-from-home where you can feel confident that your pets are in good hands.

Accommodation:

Small Animal Accommodation

We provide safe, comfortable and secure accommodation tailored to the needs of our smaller guests.

Rabbits – Indoor accommodation in a spacious 6ft Chartwell Luxury Rabbit Hutch, with outdoor hutches and runs also available for exercise and enrichment.

Guinea Pigs – Indoor accommodation in a 5ft Chartwell Luxury Hutch, providing a comfortable and sheltered environment, with access to suitable outdoor runs where appropriate.

Chickens – Secure Solway plastic coops and runs in a variety of sizes, allowing us to accommodate different flock sizes while providing a clean, safe and comfortable environment.

Exercise:

We believe daily exercise and enrichment are an important part of keeping our smaller guests happy, healthy and comfortable during their stay.

Rabbits and guinea pigs are given daily access to a secure exercise run, either indoors or outdoors depending on the weather. This gives them plenty of opportunity to stretch their legs, explore and enjoy a change of surroundings.

They are also provided with appropriate enrichment throughout their stay, encouraging natural behaviours such as exploring, foraging, hiding and playing, while helping to keep them active and stimulated.

Health & Hygiene:

Rabbits
For the health and safety of all rabbits in our care, all rabbit boarders must have up-to-date vaccinations against Myxomatosis and Viral Haemorrhagic Disease (VHD/RHD), including VHD1 and VHD2.

A valid vaccination certificate will be required before boarding. Please allow at least 21 days between vaccination and the start of your rabbit’s stay, allowing time for any potential side effects to pass and immunity to develop.

Chickens
The health and welfare of all birds in our care is a priority. We operate safely and responsibly and in accordance with current poultry health and biosecurity guidance.

To help protect all birds on the premises, we may introduce additional biosecurity measures or boarding restrictions when required by current poultry health guidance or disease-control measures.

Small Pet Boarding Prices

Rabbits
Indoor accommodation: £8.50 per day
Outdoor accommodation: £8.00 per day
Additional bonded rabbit: £3.00 per day

Guinea Pigs
£6.50 per day
Additional bonded guinea pig: £2.00 per day

Bonded rabbits and guinea pigs can stay together, helping them maintain their familiar companionship and routine while away from home.

Chickens
Up to 4 chickens: £6.00 per day
5–10 chickens: £9.00 per day

Longer stays: Discounts are available for bookings of 14 days or more.

Other Services

Services: GroomingClaw Clipping

We can provide basic grooming and claw clipping during your pet’s stay, helping to keep them comfortable and well cared for.

Grooming – Gentle brushing can be provided where appropriate, helping to keep coats tidy and comfortable and reducing loose hair and matting.

Claw Clipping – Claws can be checked and carefully trimmed when required to help prevent them becoming overgrown or uncomfortable.

All grooming and claw care is carried out gently and with your pet’s comfort and wellbeing in mind. We will only proceed where the animal is comfortable and it is safe to do so.
