Welcome to The Bunny Hut 🐰

I’m Lucy & while the official bunny but is under construction I’m here to tell you about myself and that I’m currently taking bookings for small pets for the rest of 2025.

I’m a mum of two boys, my dog poppy and tortoise 🐢 tiny morag.
I was brought up on a small holding so my childhood revolved around looking after pigs, lambs, goats, chickens, rabbits and cats.

With over 20years of small pet knowledge gained from working at pets at home for 16years, as well as working at writtle colleges small animal unit and own personal pet keeping experiences, you can rest assured your pets are in capable safe hands.

With the holidays coming up have you thought about who is going to be looking after your small pets?

I can offer in house boarding ( DM for details ) so a home from home stay for your pets. Rabbits & Guinea pigs will have access to outdoor runs.
No wooden hutches will be used to keep everything sterile and prevent cross contamination. Happy to administer medication if needed. Can also offer nail clips.
A collection / drop off service is available upon request.
Small pets such as hamsters, rats, mice gerbils degus, chinchillas,even some reptiles and birds are welcome
You can go away feeling confident your pets are in safe hands.

Accommodation:

The official bunny hut is under construction. A purpose built structure, with tunnels that link directly to a fully enclosed outdoor run space. The pens inside are 7’x4’ and we have two of these. The bunny hut is fully insulated and has electric available to keep fresh foods in the fridge. To date we have space to offer luxury home board. The pets will be kept in ferplast 120 cages inside my home, with freedom to roam. Please see all pictures on Facebook / instagram

Exercise:

Rabbits and Guinea pigs will have access to outdoor purpose built runs. These will have daily enrichments and covered space to hide away from the elements.
Small pets will have chance to exercise upon the owners request

Health & Hygiene:

All pens will have their own seperate cleaning equipment Each pen will have a designated run to keep track of who has been where.
We use Auboise and washable mats for bedding. Plus Timothy hay.
Anagine is our disinfectant of choice
Separate litter trays and Mats will be providing for each pen.
Please note wood shavings will not be used unless requested and provided by the owners due to the high level of respiratory infections it can cause

Home board rabbits £20
Small pets £8 per day
Reptiles / birds please enquire
Collection and drop off service £5 each way
Nail clip rabbits / pigs £5
Payment required on drop off
*please note due to ever rising costs, of electric, water, insurance, food, bedding materials etc prices are subject to change*

Other Services

Happy to administer medications to pets
This may mean they have to have home board so they are not near the other pets in the hut.
Nail clipping can be provided

Lucy took great care of my Guineapig Leia whilst I was on holiday. She would keep me updated regularly with videos and photos which I really appreciated! The set up was lovely with loads of room and activities! Will definitely be using her services again and would highly recommend!
