Pets are more than just animals. They are family. At Ashford Small Animal Boarding, we understand how important your pets are to you, and we are dedicated to caring for them with the same love, patience, and attention they receive at home.

We want you to feel completely at ease while you’re away, knowing your much-loved rabbits, guinea pigs, or other small pets are relaxed, safe, and happy. Our experienced and knowledgeable team provide gentle handling, thoughtful routines, and a calm environment designed to make their stay enjoyable and stress-free.

Accommodation:

Accommodation

Your pet will enjoy their own spacious wooden hutch, located inside our air-conditioned boarding shed. Each pet has their own private space and does not mix with other guests, helping keep everyone relaxed and safe.

We have ten hutches in total:
• Eight large apartments
• Two smaller apartments suitable for single guinea pigs or smaller rabbits

Floor space: approx. 1440 sq cm
(Used for single rabbits or guinea pigs)

Apartments 9 & 10
170cm (6ft) long x 70cm (2ft 6in) deep, with varying internal height

We maintain high cleanliness and hygiene standards, ensuring each guest arrives to a fresh, fully prepared space.

Exercise:

Outdoor Play & Exercise

We also offer a choice of outdoor exercise runs, available on request. Our large garden has a variety of run sizes to suit different pets and their confidence levels. Runs can be set up either on paving or grass, depending on your pet’s needs and your preference.

Each run includes:
• A shelter/house for settling and shade
• A tunnel or hide for exploration and play
• Additional shade provided during warmer weather

Your pet can enjoy fresh air, space to move, and the chance to explore in a safe, supervised environment. Just let us know if you’d like your pet to have outdoor playtime during their stay, and we’ll make sure they experience plenty of enrichment and comfort.

Health & Hygiene:

Cleanliness & Hygiene

We take cleanliness extremely seriously. Every hutch/apartment is thoroughly deep-cleaned between guests using Virkon, a veterinary-grade disinfectant that is effective and safe for small animals.

During your pet’s stay:
• Hutches are cleaned out every other day
• Litter trays are emptied and refreshed as needed
• Fresh hay, water and bedding are always available

We keep the boarding shed spotless, well-ventilated, and calm at all times. Our aim is to maintain a hygienic environment that feels comfortable, clean, and safe for every little guest who stays with us.

Your pet’s wellbeing is our top priority, and we take pride in the attention and care we put into their surroundings.

Small Pet Boarding Prices

Prices

Rabbits
• Single boarder: £10.00 per day (small apartment) or £12.00 per day (large apartment)
• Bonded pair sharing: £12.00 per day (day and night care included)

Guinea Pigs
• Single boarder: £10.00 per day
• Bonded pair sharing: £11.00–£12.00 per day (depending on apartment size)
• Three bonded friends sharing: £13.00 per day (day and night care included)

Special Offer
There is no extra charge for bank holiday stays when booked 3 months in advance or when full payment is received upfront.

Drop-Off & Collection
• No drop-offs or collections on Bank Holidays
• Sundays are by strict appointment only

Includes eye tidy and bottom trim if required
