About our Small Pet Boarding

We board:

Guinea Pigs

Hamsters, Mice etc.

We are a fully insured boarding which is ran by myself (Nicole) and my partner (MJ) who have 6 guinea pigs of our own. I have had lots of different pets throughout my life including hamsters, gerbils, rabbits and for the past 12 years have owned guinea pigs.

Accommodation:

Boarding is indoor in our spare bedroom. We have 6 4x2 c&c cages set up, all of which are suitable for up to 3 guinea pigs, or some can be extended for larger groups (we can accommodate any size of herd and always ensure the cages meet at least the minimum recommend c&c standards, just send us a message to check availability).

Exercise:

All pets will get their own individual free range time outside their enclosures to exercise. In warmer months they will have access to the garden and some lovely fresh grass in a fully covered run and under constant supervision.

Health & Hygiene:

Hopefully there will never be any issues but if your pet becomes unwell during their stay we will take them to our vet which is Ark Vets, in Coatbridge. If your pet has any vet supplied medication they are required to take we are happy to accommodate.

Small Pet Boarding Prices

All prices are per day (drop off and pick up days are charged as full days)

Guinea Pig Boarding
£8 for 1
£10 for 2 sharing the same cage
£12 for 3 sharing the same cage
(any larger groups send us a message for a price)

Other
£4 for other small pets which must come with their own cage.

We will require a £10 booking fee per cage and it will be fully refundable up until a week before your pets stay. Full payment is required before your pet boards with us and can be paid via bank transfer or cash.

Claw Clipping

We offer nail clipping, bath and fur trim services for our boarders.

£5 for nail clipping
£5 for bath (using Gorgeous Guineas shampoo)
£10 for nail clipping, bath and fur trim

Fully indoor boarding using c and c cages. The bottom cages can be made larger if there are any large groups staying.

The room is bright and always kept at a nice temperature to ensure your pets are comfortable during their stay.

We use Small Pet Select hay for our own piggies and boarders. They will be given fresh hay daily.

Nicole and Michael-John (MJ) looked after our two pet rats, Cuillin and Islay for 6 weeks while we were visiting our daughter and husband and our four grandchildren in Nashville. They are obviously passionate animal lovers. The care they lavished on the girls was second to none, much more than could be expected from any pet boarding: they treated them as their own. MJ e-mailed me regularly with photographs of them. It was clear that they were perfectly happy, home from home, being spoilt rotten with treats etc. Being 4000 miles away it was such a comfort to us. Such an amazing service! Booked my 2 guinea girls into donut lips while i was on holiday, and couldn't have been more reassured while being away from them for the first time. Mj and Nicole kept me up to date daily with how my girls were doing, sent me photos and videos, and accommodated to their routine and their needs greatly. I could tell just how comfortable and happy my piggies were from the all of the updates i got. Their setup is amazing for boarding with proper sized C&C grid cages, lots of hay, hides, as well as floor time for some extra running and fun. Next time i go away i will definitely use donut lips service again!! (I also got 2 of the cute guinea pig beds which they handmake as well, which are amazing quality and extremely cute!)

Mj and Nicole looked after our 4 Guinea Pigs for 1 week while we were away on holiday and we couldn't have been happier with the service. They are clearly very passionate and caring with animals. They treated them like there own pets, spent time with them, respected our routine and matched this under there care. The setup they have is excellent. A whole room dedicated to looking after small pets using C&C cages. We really appreciated that they gave our girls as much space as they could accomadate. We have already booked them again for August. Thanks.
