Bert's Bunny Hotel is run by myself and my daughter Alex who helps out when not at work. We have had rabbits since I was a child and Bert is our house bunny.

Bert's Bunny Hotel has insurance to cover the facility’s needs and I have DBS clearance. Prospective clients are always welcome to visit Bert’s Bunny Hotel before booking.

Accommodation:

Our boarding accommodation is perfect for boarding small animals, it stands within a large quiet garden and is secure, clean, and well-lit for all our guests creature comforts.  The summer house is fully insulated and double glazed with heating for during the colder months.

Bert's Bunny Hotel caters for all sizes and breed of guest and for multiple occupants which are booked in to share one hutch space. ​

Our luxury 6ft hutches have a sleeping area filled with hay for sleeping, a larger area for relaxing, hay, a food bowl, water bottle or bowl and a litter tray with saw dust. Hutches are spot cleaned daily and completely cleaned twice a week and disinfected between guests.  Our indoor lodges are well ventilated for the warmer weather and we have heating during the colder months. We are also happy to board hamsters or other small animals if brought in their own cages.

Exercise:

There are outdoor runs with waterproof covers on and tunnels and hideaways an a secure enclosed garden so the guests get daily exercise and indoor runs for the cooler wetter months ensuring that the guests still get plenty of exercise even when it is too wet to go out.

Health & Hygiene:

At least 14 days in advance of your arrival at Bert’s Hotel, you will need to have your rabbit’s vaccinated with the Myxomatosis RHD Plus vaccine. This vaccination gives protection against the three main rabbit diseases - Myxomatosis, Rabbit Haemorrhagic Disease 1 (RHD1) and Rabbit Haemorrhagic Disease 2 (RHD2) (This does not apply to guinea pigs).  

All cages have a water repellent covering to ensure they can be properly cleaned between guests. All hutches are toilet cleaned daily, completely cleaned twice a week and disinfected between each pet visit.

We offer indoor boarding for a range of small animals including Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Hamsters, Gerbils & Mice.

Please note that we charge for each 24 hour period and final part day during busy periods.
Bookings are secured once a 50% deposit is paid.  We accept cash payments or bank transfers.

A minimum of 3 nights booking is required.  During school holidays, 7 night minimum booking is required. (Shorter durations during the school holidays considered at our discretion).

We are open all year round, although on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day we are not open for drop off or collection of pets.  Pets boarding with us over these periods must be checked-in or collected before or after these specific dates.  For Christmas all pets must be checked-in by 23rd December and cannot be picked up until the 27th.  For New Year they have to be dropped off on the 30th December and stay until 2nd January.  An additional surcharge of £5 per hutch is charged for Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Eve and New Years Day.

We try to be flexible with drop off and collection times of pets during the day.  A time will need to be agreed in advance of the drop off and pick up when you place the booking and we confirm back we can accommodate it. We cannot accept drop off or collection before 8.30am and after 6.30pm during the week and 9.30am and 4pm on Saturdays.  We are also closed on Sundays although we will try to assist where possible with prior arrangements.

I'm so pleased I found Lisa and Berts Bunny Hotel. She clearly cares very much for her guests and I felt absolutely assured that my two guinea pigs would be looked after very well whilst in her care. I had regular updates from her with photos which were much appreciated. One of my guinea pigs was on regular medication during her stay and this was also no problem for Lisa to administer. The accommodation is generous and immaculate and the guests get daily outdoor time in very safe pens. Lisa is also really lovely and very warm and goes over and above for her guests . I highly recommend BBH to anyone looking for quality care for their furry babies. ❤️

Lisa showed our three bunnies so much care whilst looking after them for 2 weeks, that I was able to really relax and enjoy our holiday! She kindly kept us updated with regular messages & photos and it was clear that they were very happy in the lovely environment that Lisa provided for Dahlia, Walter & Winnie! I feel very lucky to have found Lisa and her excellent service - we will definitely be using Bert's Bunny Hotel each time we go away now! 😊
