About our Small Pet Boarding

Last minute bookings are very welcome!
Indoor & Outdoor Care for Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Birds, and other small pets - please just ask and we will do our best to accommodate.
Situated in the countryside of Selby; we have a spacious, secure set-up in which we have various sized indoor cages and outdoor runs.
We are experienced pet owners. We love animals and your pet will get the best care and attention during their stay with us.
We can send regular email updates via WhatsApp or Email to keep you assured that your pet is happy and content. We have been established since 2015.
Tulip Lodge is somewhere we would be happy to board our own pets and we hope you and your pets agree.

Accommodation:
Rabbit and Guinea Pig accommodation is in our secure, airy outdoor summerhouse, 'The pet room'. Please note this is not a heated space, so would be best suited for pets who are used to outdoor temperatures. This is where your pet's cage will be, and where they will be allowed to explore. We also have outdoor runs, where they can have some free grass time under supervision.
We have different sized 1 tier cages available, so we can accommodate for different needs.
We can currently offer a 140cm or 160cm cage. Please let us know which accommodation will suit your pet/s best.
You are also welcome to bring your pet's own cage if this would help them to feel more comfortable.
Birds and small pets (hamsters, gerbils, mice) will be kept in our family home in a reserved pet area. Please bring their own cage :)
Exercise:
Pets will be given time in grass runs daily (weather permitting) with toys, food, and shelter. They will also be allowed to explore the pet room under supervision.
Health & Hygiene:
As we don't want to give our guests upset tummies by feeding them different food, we do ask that you bring any dry food your pet will need for their stay.
We provide woodchip bedding, hay and fresh greens as needed.
We can offer litter trays if needed.
Spot cleans are done daily, and full clean out is done once a week. Accommodation is fully disinfected between guests.
WE WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF ALL RABBITS ARE VACCINATED AGAINST MYXOMATOSIS AND VHD, BUT IF NOT THIS IS AT YOU RISK.
Please feel free to bring any toys, snacks, or anything your pet will want to make their stay as enjoyable as possible.
Small Pet Boarding Prices
Prices are per day, per pet. Discounts can be applied for longer stays, or if the pet's own cage is brought with them.
160cm Cage - £6 per day
140cm Cage - £5 per day
+£2 per day for each additional pet
We do require a 'cage setup' fee of £4 for stays of less than 3 days.
THE PRICE INCLUDES:
Use of cages and runs, water bottles + bowls, toys, litter tray (if needed), bedding (wood shavings & straw), treats, unlimited supply of hay and fresh vegetables, and of course - lots of love and cuddles!
Payment should be payed in cash or bank transfer on arrival.
Other Services
We are more than happy to groom and brush pets. Any medication can be given as needed.

Jessica allowed me to visit her home prior to booking to ensure her set up was suitable for honey, and I have to say it more than was. We recently went on holiday and Jessica looked after our pet rabbit. He had a large cage in a spacious outbuilding which was ideal for the purpose. He had also been outside on the grass in a run - as well as being groomed a couple of times due to him moulting at the time. We took the option of having photos taken and sent, which stopped my daughter worrying about him. Everything went as arranged with Jessica who was both friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Our rabbit had obviously enjoyed his stay and I would not hesitate to use again.

Jessica looked after our pet rats and budgerigars for a week while we were on holiday in Feb 2020. Our pets were housed in a lovely, spacious, clean and warm room. Jessica emailed photos of our pets (an option we requested) while we were on holiday, which helped our peace-of-mind. When we collected them, all our pets were in tip-top and happy condition, and in clean cages. Jessica was very friendly and easy to talk to, and clearly loves animals. I cannot recommend Tulip Lodge highly enough! A wonderful place for a small animal to take a holiday :)

This is a great pet boarding service. I got updates on my rabbit and photos when I was on holiday. The hutch and garden are a fantastic space and you can see Jess genuinely loves animals so I didn't worry when I was away. Would recommend.
