Inspected and approved by Blackburn with Darwen Council, Fusspups offers a safe, calm, loving home‑from‑home designed exclusively for sociable small dogs, including those who require additional health support.
With 24 years’ experience, I’m able to give small dogs the calm, attentive care they need — whether they’re young, fit and well or managing long‑term health conditions. I’m experienced in caring for dogs with epilepsy, diabetes, luxating patella, CHF, Cushing's, Addison's and more, and can administer injectable medications.
We have two Pomeranians that enjoy having little friends come for sleepovers. Pinto is 5 and every visiting dog's best friend, and Jonty is 7, big on character but only weighing in at 2kg.
Fully insured with Protectivity, DBS checked and Level 2 Canine First Aid trained. Licence No: AHB13399.
Dogs enjoy access to the peaceful, homely spaces of both floors of my house, along with a large, fully enclosed back garden for supervised play, fresh air and relaxing sniff and explore time.
Overnight, each dog sleeps in a safe, cosy area tailored to their usual routine, whether that’s their own bed in their own designated room or a quiet spot alongside other little dogs.
Security is robust throughout the home, with locked high gates, secure fencing and monitored entry points ensuring every small guest stays comfortable, safe and protected.
Dogs are always kept on a lead outside the home, and all exercise is agreed with the owner to suit each dog’s age, fitness and needs. Younger or more active dogs enjoy two gentle small breed appropriate walks a day, while older dogs or those who can’t manage longer outings have fun enrichment indoors and relaxed pottering time in the secure garden.
I have a dog pushchair so those who can’t walk far can still get out for a change of scenery and accompany us on walks or days out.
All dogs staying at Fusspups must be fully vaccinated with proof provided before booking. I have a treatment agreement with Bradshaw Vets (routine care) and Pet A&E at The Rock in Bury (emergencies), ensuring veterinary support is always available. I'm also able to take your dog to their own vet for appointments.
With more than two decades experience caring for small‑breed dogs, I’m confident supporting pets with additional health needs. I’m trained and insured to administer medications, including injectable insulin, and all treatments are given exactly as prescribed and recorded in a clear, medication log.
Hygiene is maintained to a high standard: bedding and dog areas are cleaned frequently, equipment is disinfected between guests, accidents are dealt with immediately using approved pet‑safe products, and the garden is checked and cleared throughout the day.
My home‑boarding rate is £35 per day, with a £5–£10 supplement for dogs needing additional medical support. Low numbers are adhered to as per Council regulations and therefore each little one receives attentive, loving care.
A 25% deposit secures each booking following an initial afternoon trial visit, plus an overnight trial stay for bookings over three days, in line with Council regulations. These pre-stay visits help your dog settle, become familiar with me and my home, and feel confident during their longer holiday stay, knowing that you always return for them.
A Collect & Return service can be arranged dependent on others in residence and my daily availability.
Dog day care can also be occasionally accommodated for dogs who are registered with Fusspups for holiday care.
Susannah has been caring of my dog for years - all the way into her old age where she had some medical conditions requiring medication. Knowing that she is in such good hands and receiving so much love at her home from home when I'm away is priceless. Susannah was very patient with her when they first met - my dog can be very shy around new people - and was really able to make her feel at ease. I can't thank her enough for the peace of mind that comes from knowing she's well cared for when I'm away.

Susannah's is an absolute Home from Home Haven for little dogs. They get all the attention and love they need off her. My three girls have stayed with Susannah for many years. From being puppies to old ladies. I wouldn't go anywhere else. They adore her and love staying with her so much so she is known in our home as Mummy Susannah, because she really is a surrogate mummy to our pets while we are away. Her Knowledge of dogs health care and professionalism are second to none. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend susannah. In my opinion she's the best.

Oh my goodness what a find! â¤ï¸ðŸŒŸ Pixie, my tiny Yorkshire terrier, who is agile, but elderly with several health issues, had an amazing time with Susannah in her incredibly clean, caring, attentive and loving home environment. I felt totally confident her medication would be timely given and that she would enjoy her stay, and goodness me, I was not wrong. Susannah is amazing, a really friendly lady who you can tell loves our dogs as her own. I definitely recommend her 100% and we'll be back with total confidence before too long. Thank you Susannah xx
