About our Home Boarding

Welcome to Wagging Trails — a calm, home-from-home small dog day care and boarding service based in Little Plumstead, just east of Norwich.

Run by Sam, with support from partner Craig and resident Cavaliers Bramble and Jasper, Wagging Trails is designed for small, gentle companion dogs who thrive in a peaceful, family environment.

We specialise in Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and similar breeds, with suitability always based on temperament, behaviour, and how each dog fits within our calm group.

Dogs thrive when they know what to expect, who they’re with, and where they are — and that’s exactly what we provide through consistent structure and a relaxed home setting.

Home boarding is primarily for our regular day care dogs, with limited availability for carefully selected small companion dogs who are a good fit for our calm environment and complete our introduction process.

Many of our boarding dogs return to stay with us for holidays throughout the year, helping them feel familiar, settled, and part of the group.

To help every dog feel calm and settled, all new boarding dogs complete a short introduction process, including a meet and greet, settling session, and trial overnight stay before longer bookings are confirmed.

We keep our groups intentionally small and carefully matched, so we may not be the right fit for every dog — and that’s completely okay.

Accommodation:

Our home is cosy, welcoming, and designed around calm, family-style care. Dogs have access to the lounge, kitchen, and secure garden throughout the day, relaxing on soft beds and sofas just as they would at home.

Overnight guests sleep wherever they feel most comfortable, whether that's:

• Their own bed from home
• A comfortable dog bed
• An open crate in a quiet area
• Or on our bed if this is part of their normal routine

The garden is fully enclosed with double security gates and all outdoor time is supervised for safety and peace of mind.

Exercise:

Dogs at Wagging Trails enjoy secure private dog park visits, countryside adventures, and plenty of opportunities to sniff, explore, and unwind with their friends.

Exercise and activities are always tailored to each dog's needs — from playful exploration to gentle wanders and relaxed sniffing sessions for older or more sensitive dogs.

Between outings, dogs enjoy plenty of rest, cuddles, enrichment, and calm companionship within our home environment.

Health & Hygiene:

Your dog’s wellbeing is always our top priority.

• All dogs must be fully vaccinated (or have a current titre test)
• Regular flea and worm protection is required
• We’re trained in Canine First Aid and Canine Behaviour
• Fully insured and DBS-checked
• Excellent relationship with V For Vets (Broadland Business Park) for any emergencies
• Our home is cleaned daily using pet-safe disinfectants
• Fresh water is always available

We also follow safe feeding routines and administer vet-prescribed medication with clear written instructions from you.

Home Boarding Prices

• Dog Day Care: £30 per day (up to 11 hours)
• Home Boarding: £40 per 24 hours
• Out-of-hours and Bank Holiday supplements may apply

💳 Booking & Payments:

• Regular day care billed monthly in advance
• Boarding stays of 3+ nights require a deposit to secure the booking
• Cancellation terms apply as outlined in our Terms & Conditions

Spaces remain intentionally limited to maintain our calm small-group environment.
