About our Home Boarding

Welcome to Wagging Trails — a calm, home-from-home small dog day care and boarding service based in Little Plumstead, just east of Norwich.

Run by Sam, with support from partner Craig and resident Cavaliers Bramble and Jasper, Wagging Trails focuses on caring for gentle companion breeds and small dogs who thrive in a peaceful family environment.

We are particularly suited to Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and similar dogs with calm, friendly temperaments, as suitability is always based on personality and behaviour rather than breed alone.

Dogs thrive when they know what to expect, who they’re with, and where they are — and that’s exactly what we provide through consistent structure and a relaxed home setting.

Home boarding is available for our regular day care dogs, with limited availability for other suitable small dogs following a successful meet and greet. This ensures every overnight guest fits naturally into our calm group, leading to settled nights, happy mornings, and relaxed stays.

Accommodation:

Our home is cosy, welcoming, and designed around calm, family-style care. Dogs have access to the lounge, kitchen, and secure garden throughout the day, relaxing on soft beds and sofas just as they would at home.

Overnight guests sleep wherever they feel most comfortable, whether that's:

• Their own bed from home
• A comfortable dog bed
• An open crate in a quiet area
• Or on our bed if this is part of their normal routine

The garden is fully enclosed with double security gates and all outdoor time is supervised for safety and peace of mind.

Exercise:

Dogs at Wagging Trails enjoy twice-daily visits to a secure private dog park where they can run, sniff, explore, and play safely off-lead.

Walks and activities are always tailored to each dog’s needs — from a playful dash, to a gentle wander, to relaxed sniffing sessions for older or more sensitive dogs.

Between outings, they enjoy plenty of rest, cuddles, and calm enrichment — keeping everyone relaxed and well-balanced.

Health & Hygiene:

Your dog’s wellbeing is always our top priority.

• All dogs must be fully vaccinated (or have a current titre test)
• Regular flea and worm protection is required
• We’re trained in Canine First Aid and Canine Behaviour
• Fully insured and DBS-checked
• Excellent relationship with V For Vets (Broadland Business Park) for any emergencies
• Our home is cleaned daily using pet-safe disinfectants
• Fresh water is always available

We also follow safe feeding routines and administer vet-prescribed medication with clear written instructions from you.

Home Boarding Prices

• Dog Day Care: £30 per day (up to 11 hours)
• Home Boarding: £40 per 24 hours
• Weekend & holiday surcharges apply

💳 Booking & Payments:

• Regular day care billed monthly in advance
• Boarding stays of 3+ nights require a deposit
• Cancellation terms apply as outlined in our Terms & Conditions

Spaces remain intentionally limited to maintain our calm small-group environment.
