About our Home Boarding

Hello & Welcome to my page!
I have been around both horses and dogs for most of my life and I am very much at home and at ease with both. My website www.spiritofpegasus.co.uk will tell you all about my journey and what I am qualified in which has been holistic healing with all animals but mainly horses and dogs. I absolutely love working with both animals and 5 years ago I was asked to look after a friends dogs whilst she went away, I've always had a dog and still do a Jack Russell who's getting on a bit now. We really enjoyed having a couple more dogs in the house and that really made me look into licensed dog boarding. This is now my full time job and I thoroughly enjoy it! I live with my partner who is also very much a dog lover and on weekends he loves nothing more than joining us on our woodland walks.
I have an Ofqual qualification in Canine care & Behaviour, a Canine First Aid Certificate, and Distinction in Animal Healing, so any dogs that may be initially stressed we can certainly help with.

Accommodation:

We live in a spacious detached house with a generously sized garden at the rear, very secure with high fencing and high gate which is locked at all times. We are fully insured and have a local vet who is a 3 minute drive away, just in case there is ever an emergency.

We are extremely lucky to have Strensall common on our doorstep, with woodland and water, and not too far away we have so many places to visit which we can do on weekends and of course the North Yorkshire Moors. When able to do so we may also visit the seaside with the owners permission.
We offer lots of love, hugs, walks, grooming and enrichment depending on your dogs age and ability. All dogs needs are catered for to the best that we can to ensure they too have a very happy holiday!

Exercise:

Dogs are exercised on two hourly walks a day and a short walk around lunchtime. Again, this depends on your dogs age and ability.

Health & Hygiene:

We ask you to visit our home prior to your dogs holiday so we can all be familiarised, a booking form will be filled in and a 30% deposit is required, along with your dogs vaccinations record which must be up to date, and also proof of microchip number.
We do expect your dog to arrive for his/her holiday to have been wormed and treated for prevention of flea's.
Should your dog need any medication during their stay I am happy to administer, but please inform me beforehand .
We do not take dogs in season, and we no longer take male dogs that are not neutered.

Sue has looked after my dogs 3 times so far and they are already booked in again next year for 11 days. I have the utmost trust in her. My dogs both settle really well and extremely quickly with Sue and from pictures sent to me by Sue look to have a fabulous time. As soon as the dogs see Sue they get really excited to go with her and remember her and her house. I do a round trio of 120 miles to take my dogs since Sue has moved but I would not trust anyone else with the them. Would definitely recommend Sue she's amazing.

Sue has looked after Alfie and Lola for us for the past 2 years. They are usually nervous with people but they took to Sue straight away. On our visit this year they were so excited to see her and went straight in her house to make themselves at home without a backward glance! Sue sends us pictures to prove just how much they enjoy themselves and they are always relaxed and happy when we bring them home. I couldn't give a higher recommendation - if you want peace of mind - go to Sue!

All I can say is that you really couldn't be in better hands. Sue is an animal lover and of course especially loves her dogs. The main thing we get when we go away is complete peace of mind knowing our lovely Archie is being properly cared for means the we really can relax and enjoy our holiday with absolutely no anxiety. She always gives a warm friendly welcome and has always given a first class service to us and our much-loved four legged friend. If you want a stress free experience then look no further than Sue, you will not be disappointed.
