About our Guinea Pig Boarding

My name is Bethan, I’ve been an animal lover as long as I can remember and having been running Those Old Pets since 2022. I have animal first aid training, and the business is fully insured.

I have my own rabbits and ducks, but have had experience with gerbils, mice, rats, snakes, birds, hamsters, ferrets and tortoise.

Accommodation:

We have two areas for rabbits which are roughly 3x2m each, in our spare room and kitchen. This could also be used for guinea pigs. Those staying in the kitchen have direct access to my side garden which has been gardened to only contain rabbit safe plants safe for munching on!

We have space to take multiple cages/terrarium of animals - be that rats, hamsters, birds or anything else.

Exercise:

Rabbit spaces are in keeping with RWAF standards. Small animals in cages can come out for additional play time if requested, although exercise balls will never be used.

Health & Hygiene:

Guinea pigs and rabbits must be up to date with all vaccinations prior to attending for boarding or bonding.

The business is registered with Hampden Vets in Aylesbury for any emergency care but in the first case I will always try to use the vet that your pet is already registered with.

I have substantial experience in giving medications to small animals including injections and oral meds. I also have significant experience with a variety of animal illnesses and the additional needs they may require.

Guinea Pig Boarding Prices

Small animals cost £15 per night per room. That means 1 rabbit costs the same as 6, so long as they are using the same space.

Guinea pigs have the option of an outside 5ft hutch, charged at £10 per night for the hutch space.

Animals coming in their own cage or terrarium are charged £10 per night, regardless of the number of animals housed in there.

I ask for a 25% deposit upon booking and the remainder paid by the beginning of their stay with me.

I offer rabbit bonding for groups of multiple rabbits, this happens in my own home.

I can also provide a consultation and support service for those wanting to bond rabbits themselves but feel they need a little extra experienced support. This includes an initial consultation discussion about how to bond, the recommended equipment and preparation, my presence for the initial bonding time, and ongoing support
