About our Home Boarding

My name is Liz Knights, and I started my home boarding business in 2011. Having had dogs all my life, it was a natural route to take as I knew I could put my years of experience to good use. We pride ourselves at Oaklands in offering a safe, happy and loving environment to all our doggy guests, who become part of the family for their stay. Our aim is to provide a stress free holiday for both you and your dog and look forward to seeing you come back to us again. Oaklands Home boarding for Dogs is fully licensed by South Norfolk District Council, licence number AB73. Also I am CRB checked and have full insurance.

Accommodation:

We are set in a large, safe and secured half acre garden surrounded by beautiful meadows, with miles of lovely country walks. Our doggy visitors, have full access to our home and garden during their stay with us.
We can maintain any routine that you have in place at home, including feeding times, sleeping arrangements and exercise. In order for your dog to feel at home with us, we recommend you provide bedding, food and toys. If your dog also requires a crate, we can accomodate that too.

Exercise:

We give all our guests two long walks each day, and we also make time for play in the afternoon, after all they're on holiday too! I also appreciate older dogs may require shorter walks and at their own pace,we can accommodate that too.

Health & Hygiene:

We do ask that all our guests are up to date with their vaccinations, this includes kennel cough. Please note that we do not take uncastrated males. All dogs must also be up to date with flea and worming treatments before their stay.

Home Boarding Prices

Other Services

Also offered is Day Care- A long day at work or other commitments, I can offer a day of company, long walks, fun games and enrichment play in the garden

Our Labrador Eddie stayed with Liz at Oaklands for the day when we were on holiday in Suffolk. Eddie was very well looked after and Liz was very accommodating. Eddie had a lovely day playing with the other dogs. Thank you Liz we would recommend this daycare and boarding to everyone!

We are very happy to have found Oaklands Home Boarding, which provides safe, highly professional, fun and down-to-earth home boarding for our little dog. Liz Knights is first class and we know our dog Agnes is very well looked after. We have left Agnes in her care many times and will continue to do so as we feel confident in knowing that she has the best of times there. At Oaklands, there is opportunity for exercise, stimulating play and socialising with other dogs. She loves going there and we have no hesitation in recommending Liz. And Agnes says ....... My name is Agnes and I count the sleeps to my next visit with 'aunty Liz'. I am very well looked after, I go for lovely walks, play with new friends including treat hunts, and am welcomed as part of the family. I have a beyond super time.

We have never been fond of kennels since our spaniel had a very bad experience when he was a puppy. Finding Liz has been great. She clearly loves dogs and takes great care of them ensuring their individual needs are taken care of. Her home has beautiful country walks on the doorstep and the spacious garden is a haven for those doggies who like to run and play. Nothing is too much trouble when it comes to the dogs in her care and our initial nerves about leaving him were quickly calmed as she kindly kept in touch with photos and videos of him having so much fun with Candy and the other doggies. Thank you so much Liz and see you soon.

Having previously put our little cairn terrier Skye into kennels which didn't suit any of us, we were so happy to find Liz. She is such a lovely warm person who you can tell straight away knows all the dogs personalities and clearly loves looking after them.. I would recommend Liz to anybody.

We recently left our 11 year old cocker spaniel Millie in Liz's very capable hands whilst we were away for more than 3 weeks and couldn't be happier with the way she was looked after. We had already tried a few overnight stays in preparation over the previous few months. Millie was always very happy to arrive at Liz's, a sure sign she enjoyed her time there. She loves Liz's garden but most of all she loves Liz's dog Candy! It had been such a worry, leaving an 11 year old dog for such a long time, thank goodness we found Liz & all those worries just melted away. We received regular updates from Liz as to how Millie was settling in, which gave us such peace of mind. Thanks Liz, you will be seeing Millie regularly now!

My little Poochon Ted has been visiting with Liz and her family for the past 5 years. He settled in so quickly right from his first visit and is now practically part of the family! Ted is bursting with excitement from the moment we pull on to the driveway and he has made some lovely pup friends over the years. Liz takes great pride in providing a secure and happy environment for all the dogs who visit with her. She is a natural with dogs and has such genuine love for them. I have complete peace of mind that Ted is in very good hands and Liz even sends me little messages and photos to let me know what he's up to. I feel very lucky to have found Liz and can not recommend her highly enough.

Having previously left our Labrador cross, Reuben, in kennels whilst we were away, and then returned to find a very miserable and unhappy dog, it was a great relief to find Oaklands Home Boarding and for Reuben to enjoy such a different experience. Can't praise Liz and family highly enough for the care and attention they give to their boarders. Reuben has been to stay at Oaklands both for the odd day and for 2 weeks whilst we're away for the past couple of years now and is always very happy to be left there. I think he has a wonderful time !

My 11 month cockapoo willow has just had a 9 day holiday with Liz and I can say I wouldn't leave her anywhere else now!! I am so happy to have found Liz and she took such good care of my girl. We had two settling in nights with her before we went and she took lots of time to find out about willow and her routine etc. She sent lots of pictures and videos throughout willows stay and she had the time of her life with all the other dogs. I am sure she will be very excited when she next goes to stay. I would recommend Liz to anyone.

Fantastic in every way. I can not rate Liz highly enough. We have just collected our Yorkie Winston after a two week stay and couldn't be happier (both us and the dog!) My wife is a natural born worrier, and hated leaving him in kennels 2yrs ago, Liz took ALL of this worry away from us by taking her time to show us around her home and garden were he would stay and also introduced us to her own dog Candy. Liz backed this all up by a 'tester stay' to ensure he could settle well in advance of our travel. Liz also asked us to detail his routine, likes, dislikes, special toys even how he asks to go out to the loo etc to help him settle in. Whilst we were away Liz kept us up to date with his antics and interactions which meant my wife worried even less. Upon collection I had a full briefing of his antics and presented with a perfectly happy and clean pooch. A stark contrast to when he was collected from his previous boarding facilities. I would recommend Liz to anyone needing to board their dog as this is a home clearly full of love and care for our furry babies.

What can I say? Just a massive "Thank you " for all the love and care you (and your family) provide for my Miniature Schnauzer, Zola, at Oaklands. For 3+ years Zola has stayed with you for periods of 2 days to 3 weeks and my mind is always at ease knowing that you provide the best possible "home from home" for her. It is a great credit to you that you see each dog as an individual and care for them accordingly. Thank you for giving nervous Zola the time and space to get to know you when she first came to you. When I go away I cannot think of leaving her anywhere other than at Oaklands.

Our dogs (Maisee and Bracken) love going to Liz so much - they have a great time because Liz has such a love of, and affinity, with dogs. We are always reassured that they will be very well looked after whenever we have to go away - a home from home - they are really pampered - and Liz is so good at accommodating the different ages and needs of our two dogs. I can not recommend Liz and Oakland's Home Boarding highly enough. We are so pleased we found out about Oaklands and so are Maisee and Bracken!

I have just collected my Parsons Jack from Liz after her second 3week stay while I'm visiting my son in the USA. Poppy olso has one day a week play day with with Liz and can't wait to get out of the car when we arrive, I'm sure that she would like to go everyday if possible because she has so much fun playing with other dogs. Liz is a very caring lady and Poppy loves her.

Just felt l had to write a review for Oaklands Home Boarding. My dog Ella has been staying with Liz one day a week for several weeks now as l wanted to make sure she would be ok when l go on holiday in a few months time. Ella absolutely loves her day with Liz and drags Liz down the path to get into the beautiful garden where she has hours of fun. It has taken a great weight off my mind to know that while l am enjoying a break in the sun so will Ella be having a lovely time. I cannot thank Liz enough.Liz is so caring and thoughtful with Ella and has made her a more confident and therefore happier little dog. I highly recommend Oaklands. Home boarding is a much better environment for a dog that is used to living indoors than the usual type of kennels.

Boarders Response:Thank you so much for such a lovely review. It means such alot to me that Ella is happy and that Sally has taken the time to do a review. I very much hope that we can continue to build Ella's confidence and Sally can have a few more holidays in the sun.

Our 10 year old lab, Bailey, absolutely adores Liz & I wouldn't leave him with anyone else when we are away. They treat him as part of the family when he stays with them & it is clear when I drop him off that he feels very much at home there! Thank you Liz for always taking such great care of Bailey & for giving me peace of mind while we are away, we cannot recommend you enough.

I'm so pleased I found Liz! Ted, my 10 month old Poochon, stays with Liz both during the day when I'm working and for overnight visits and his tail is always wagging when he arrives. Even better is how tired and content he is when I pick him up (see photo!). Liz has such a genuine love of dogs and is so good with Ted, really taking time to get to know him and make sure he settled in. It is such a relief to know he is so well looked after and welcomed into Liz's family (even when he steals their socks!). I would thoroughly recommend Liz.

I can not recommend liz enough, my girls love visiting her, my cavalier has a lot of health problems and has have medication every day, I feel very comfortable and relaxed with her taking care of ruby and bella. If you would like your beloved dog staying at a home from home then this is defiantly the place!
