About our Small Pet Boarding

We board: RabbitsGuinea Pigs

With 40 years experience caring for rabbits, we aim to give your pet a relaxing holiday of their own, while you enjoy yours.
We supply fresh vegetables and good quality nuggets along with other treats and of course clean hay and bedding straw each day. If however your rabbit is used to a different dried food (such as rabbit muesli), you should provide an adequate supply so that your pets enjoy their usual diet. Changes can prove unsettling. We also have a range of toys to occupy our guests, but they are of course welcome to bring their own.

Accommodation:

Our guests are housed in purpose built hutches. Each 5' two storey hutch can accomodate up to three rabbits (subject to size) who normally live together. We also are happy to accommodate well behaved house rabbits. We have thermal covers for the hutches, and heat pads available for colder winter nights.

Exercise:

We aim to provide daily exercise on grassed areas in large pens which includes a covered area for rainy days in our secure garden.

Health & Hygiene:

All hutches are cleaned and provided with fresh hay and straw on a daily basis. Drinking water is changed at least once a day. The hutches are disinfected between guests. We require all visitors to have both RHD and myxomatosis vaccinations for their protection and that of our other guests. We are happy to administer medication where necessary, and in emergencies will contact the customers preferred vet, or our own vet if this is not possible.

Small Pet Boarding Prices

Charges range from £8.00/night for one guest in a single hutch to £14.00/night for a double hutch with two rabbits. House rabbits start at £12.00/night There is a minimum charge of two nights stay. Payment by cash, bank transfer, paypal or cheque accepted.

Other Services

We can collect and return your rabbit within 25 miles for a small charge, using our own pet carrier baskets if required. We can also offer light grooming and claw clipping.

Patch our mini lop year rabbit has just returned from Andrea and Stuart's care. He stayed there for two weeks while we were on holidays. At first we were anxious about Patch staying with strangers and were offered a visit to settle our anxieties. We were pleased with the setting and the wealth of knowledge and experience of both Andrea and Stuart. We therefore booked Patch in for his two week holiday. While we were away we text Stuart for an update on Patch and we're reassured by his response that Patch was ok. We also received pictures of him. Due to the extremely hot weather, all of the rabbits were taken indoors for their health and safety. It's these little touches and care for the rabbits which were important to us. Patch had daily time in an outdoor run. The hutches were clean and the rabbits all looked well/ happy. Patch was clean and had no odour leaving there. We were given a “fruit/veg” bag to come home with when we collected Patch just in case we didn't have any veg in the house (which we didn't). This also helped for consistency purposes. We would definitely recommend this service to others and will be a returning customer!

My rabbit Dobby and guinea pig Gizmo have stayed with Andrea and Stuart may times. They always come home happy and healthy. Andrea and Stuart are lovely people. I wouldn't send Dobby and Gizmo anywhere else.

I would like to thank Stuart for advising me today regarding my house bunnies. I needed advise and saw their profile and years of experience on their website so I called. Stuart was very helpful in answering the questions I had. I would not hesitate taking my bunnies there if and when I need to to so. Many thanks Stuart and Andrea for the job you do!

Left my two bunnies there for a week. Came back to find one with huge tear in her ear. Had to have ear shortened and stitched as part of ear was already dying. Obviously happened a few days before we picked them up and were only told on day of pick up. Should have either let us know or taken to the vets. She would have been in awful pain and cant believe the neglect of the owners. Vets said either from faulty hutch or being allowed to mix with the other bunnies on there property and was attacked. Awful experience, will not be using these again!!!

Boarders Response:It is very disappointing to receive our first negative review after 8 years and thousands of visitors. These two rabbits, Angel and Elizabeth, were completely fine when they were locked up on Sunday night. The wound was discovered on Monday morning, and we contacted the owners by telephone before 7.30am to allow them to instruct us as to what they wanted us to do, or to make their own arrangements, which is what they did. At no time were these two rabbits allowed to come into contact with other rabbits, the hutch was thoroughly checked during deep cleaning both before their arrival and after departure and found to be without fault. Unfortunately, the only conclusion is that either accidently, or deliberately, the injury to Angel was caused by her ear being stood on by Elizabeth, or by herself. This type of injury is not uncommon in lop eared rabbits. We entirely refute the Vet’s interpretation of the cause. It should also be added that the owners appeared understanding on collection.

This is the only place I will leave my rabbit in the future when I go away. Andrea and Stuart are experts and provide the best care imaginable. Both are also extremely friendly and really lovely people. Thanks again for everything.

We have brought our rabbit to Andrea several times. Our rabbit loves to visit and is always very well looked after. So much so, we have great peace of mind dropping her off. Would highly recommend you take your rabbit/s here.

Andrea and Stuart take great care of our rabbit Lenny. He enjoys being there and we can relax knowing he's in safe hands.

Have boarded our rabbits here twice. Andrea and her husband are true rabbit lovers and have a vast knowledge and understanding of rabbits and their like and dislikes. Would highly recommend them.
