About our Small Pet Boarding

We've kept chickens for over eleven years, with a flock of 40 of our own ladies. We also work from this location and live here.

Accommodation:

We currently have four coops with attached runs, suitable for up to 4 large fowl each. The runs are fox proof and are moved on to new grass as and when needed - we will not let them sit in their own poop! Quality food, water and mixed grit will be available at all time, and your ladies will be closed in the coop overnight, being let out first thing in the morning.

Exercise:

Your chickens will be let out of their coop in the morning and have the range of their run during the day. For both physical and bio-security reasons, they will remain in their run, so as not to come into contact with other birds.

Health & Hygiene:

They will be moved onto fresh cut grass as and when needed, and the coops will be cleaned out at least once a week - more if required. Between each set of guests the coops are disinfected with Barrier V1 Organic disinfectant and refilled with pine wood shavings under the perches, and shavings or soft barley straw in the nest box, whichever you prefer. The coops are also sprayed with an anti-red mite spray and sprinked with diatomaceous earth.

Small Pet Boarding Prices

Prices range from £5 to £10 per coop per day, depending on which coop you use, and a minimum charge of three days'.

Other Services

We can clip your hens' wings if needed whilst they stay here, and can also feed them medicated wormer in their food at additional cost to cover the bag of feed.
