About our Small Pet Boarding

We board: RabbitsGuinea PigsBirdsHamsters, Mice etc.

Pippin Pet Boarding is a small family business, we started boarding pets in July 2014. We have cared for Guinea pigs since 1998 and Rabbits since 2003 we also care for other small pets too such as: hamsters, gerbils, reptiles, rats, hedgehogs and small birds.
We have cared for some exotic pets such as lizards and tortoises but rarely have these types of pets stay with us so if you require boarding for your exotic pet you must leave instructions on your pets daily care and also note that we do not have the proper facilities for these pets ready on site.

Boarding pets will be given plenty of attention as there will be only 8 lots of outdoor boarding rabbits/guinea pigs and 4-5 lots of indoor pets maximum staying at a time. They will be cared for down to their personal needs.

Outdoor boarding pets will be kept safe in a locked summer house away from any preditors such as foxes and out of the direct cold, wind, rain, snow and sun. We have an outdoor pet monitoring camera with infared vision in our summerhouse so that we an always keep an eye on your pets!

We have available to book Outdoors:

120cm cages

140cm cages

160cm cage

6ft Single hutches

7ft Single Hutches

6ft Double hutch (two floors)

7ft Double hutch (two floors)

We provide 140cm cages or you may bring your own indoor cage if we have space.

All rabbits and guinea pigs will also have access to our large outdoor runs which measure 10ft x 5ft and 8ft x 5ft, they will get at least 4 hours exercise every day or more if there are fewer boarders.

Pets such as hamsters, gerbils, mice, rats, birds, reptiles etc will be kept in the house in their own cage/tank.

Rabbits & guinea pigs will get their daily exercise in our home built 8 ft x 5 ft run and 10 ft x 5 ft run. We have covers for the runs so pets will still be sheltered from the direct wind, rain and sun.

Indoor rabbits will exercise in our indoor boarding room and kitchen for a few hours, separately and will be supervised at all times because of this they will not be out of their cage for all of the day as I have to give my equal attention to other boarding pets. They are also able to exercise in the runs outdoors.

Health & Hygiene:

We reccomened rabbits are vaccinated against Myxomatosis and RVHD.

We offer grooming and we can administer medication via syringe for an extra £1 per day. We can also apply any creams or eyedrops.

All pets will exercise and be housed separatly unless they are bonded from the same household.

All rabbit and guinea pig hutches/cages will be cleaned out twice a week with disinfectant. Litter trays will be changed daily. Any soiled bedding will be changed daily.

Nibbles has been staying regularly at Pippin over the last couple of years and has now been joined by his best friend Isabelle who also loves going there on her holidays. I'm always so happy to get photos and updates while I'm away and know that my bunnies are safe and well. Fantastic as always- thank you!

An incredible pet boarding service! Our bunnies have stayed here twice now for extended stays, and are booked in for a future holiday later this year. Excellent communication, facilities and a friendly face was exactly what made us feel secure leaving our 3 bunnies here.

Reggie & Ralphy have stayed twice this summer with Charlotte. Ralphy is an indoor rabbit & can be a bit mischievous, but Charlotte was happy to welcome him back (phew). Fortunately Reggie is an angel. Both bunnies come home happy. Peace of mind makes our holiday all the more enjoyable. Would fully recommend.

Nellie, our fussy house rabbit, stays with Charlotte on a regular basis and receives exactly the same care and love she gets at home. It is Nellie’s second home and Charlotte always sends regular pictures and texts to let us know all is well. One time Nellie needed a vet ; Charlotte did not hesitate and promptly sorted everything ensuring Nellie stayed a very happy bunny. We know Nellie has fun there, is part of the family and is spoilt. We wouldn’t send her anywhere else.
