About our Home Boarding

I've been offering boarding - and walks for local dogs - since 2011, licensed by Cornwall Council and insured by Cliverton.
Whippets seem to enjoy the company of their own kind and my decision to accept new bookings only for Whippets from 2019 onwards stems from my deep love for the breed and the sheer pleasure and joy I derive from spending time with them and watching them interact with one another.
Please note that I don’t accept uncastrated males for boarding, nor unspayed bitches.

I live in a small detached house with my own three Whippets and an elderly parrot and rarely board more than two other dogs at a time. Boarders live with us as part of the family and are fed and exercised in accordance with the client's instructions. There's a secure garden for sunbathing and pottering. Ours is a quiet, smoke-free, stress-free household and most boarders settle in very quickly.

Boarders are taken out twice a day, on-leash or off-leash in accordance with the client's written instructions. Walks vary in length and are taken in groups of no more than four dogs. Boarders also have access to the garden at all times.

Health & Hygiene:

Many dogs these days require regular medication and this presents no problem, as long as the client provides clear written instructions regarding its administration.
In the event of an emergency, a visiting Whippet can be taken to its own vet, if that vet is close by, or to my own local vet, who operates a 24/7 emergency service.

Home Boarding Prices

Boarding fees are £22.50 a day for one Whippet, £40.00 for two. Booking is confirmed and secured on payment of a non-refundable 50% deposit, with the balance of the boarding fee payable on or before the dog's arrival.
Clients are required to complete a Registration Form, supplying details of their Whippet's character, general habits, likes, and dislikes. This and the Booking Form can be received by email. Both client and dog must visit at least once before the boarding period, and, if the client so wishes, a potential boarder is welcome to spend a few hours here on a couple of further occasions, just to become familiar with the house and with me. There's no charge for these familiarisation visits.

Other Services

Within Saltash I also offer a walking service, on-leash or off-leash in accordance with the client's written instructions. Fee: £10.00 an hour for one dog, £15.00 for two.

Dill my cockerpoo has been fortunate enough to board with Debs twice now. Dill can be wary of strangers but was made to fill very welcome with Debs. Before boarding Debs offered an initial visit to ease settling in and I appreciated this as it gave them both a chance to get to know each over. Not that I needed to have worried as Debs passion, love, cuddles and care soon won Dill over. Debs is excellent at communicating and keeping in touch with how Dill got on. He always has fun with Debs and is reluctant to leave. Dill will be spending more time with Debs in the future as I have booked him in for some daycare sessions. I would highly recommend Dill to anyone looking for daycare or boarding.

Debs has looked after my ageing border terrier, (Poppy)both as Day Care and Boarding. She caters for her specific needs with regards to diet, medication and exercise. Poppy feels very safe and content whilst she is with Debs. I can relax knowing that she is in very good hands and that she will be returned safe, well and happy on my return. It's a huge relief to find someone locally who cares as much about your dog as you do. I'm extremely grateful!

Debs has been regularly walking my dog Barney for 3 days a week and boarding him for another 2 since last November when I broke my ankle. He settle very well with Debs who is careful to discuss all your and your dog's requirements with you, and keeps to these. I have no hesitation in recommending her services as does Barney!
