Here at Home From Home Dog Care, I look after dogs in my home, as part of my own family, and I only have one, two, or (occasionally) three dogs boarding at a time.
All dogs must be over 12 months of age, bitches must be spayed and dogs must be neutered.
For dogs not used to staying in kennels, this is an ideal place to come, as they have all the creature comforts they are used to at home and can relax in familiar surroundings. My home is a clean, quiet, calm environment, where dogs feel safe and settle well.
Your dog will receive a lot of TLC here at Home From Home Dog Care. I provide a very personal, bespoke service, tailored to your dog's individual needs and will send you photo and video updates of your dog enjoying their holiday!
Please bring your dog to come and visit before you commit to booking. It’s important that you and your dog trust me and are happy with my facilities, so that you have peace of mind while you’re away. Also, I like to see that they are well behaved and suitable for me to handle, for the safety and well-being of all of us.
A familiarization session will be arranged prior to your dog's stay to help them become acquainted with me and my home.
I take the safety of my customers very seriously and am keeping up to date with and adhering to the latest Government / CFSG guidance for best practice. I have the necessary Risk Assessments and Safe Handover Procedures in place to help protect us all during the pandemic.
Dogs have the run of the downstairs rooms and back garden. They have their own designated room downstairs for feeding and sleeping and I have a listening device to alert me if they need me through the night.
I prefer you to bring their own bedding as it is full of familiar smells which helps your dog to feel more at home.
I also ask that you bring their own food to avoid any tummy upsets.
If your dog has a favourite toy, bring that too - there’s always time for play here!
My garden is a good size and securely enclosed by a 6ft solid fence. The garden is always kept clean and safe and the gate is bolted during the day and padlocked at night.
As much as possible I try to stick to your dog’s daily routine and give them as much exercise as you do.
Reid Park is just around the corner - perfect for short walks for small or elderly dogs. More energetic dogs can go for longer walks along the Calder River, the Calder & Hebble Navigation Canal, Healey Mills and Coxley Woods.
I don't walk dogs "off-lead" unless you give written permission.
- All dogs must be over 12 months of age.
- Bitches must be spayed.
- Dogs must be neutered.
- Vaccinations against Canine Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis and Parvovirus must have been completed at least 2 weeks before boarding, and proof of vaccination must be provided.
Dogs must have been treated for worms and fleas.
If your dog is on medication, that's not a problem, just give me detailed instructions and I will ensure continuity of treatment.
