About our Home Boarding

I set up Woofs and Walks in May 2014 following 14 years as a bus driver in the Wakefield area, as I couldn't embrace that role any longer.
My husband and I have kept dogs for many years, and following many bereavements in a relatively short span of time, including our 2 much loved dogs, decided to care for dogs while their humans are unable either due to holidays abroad, or illness.
WMDC registered.
I am well read on the behaviour and care of canines, as I was given and bought a few books when I decided to begin boarding in 2013.

Accommodation:

We have a secure, small, well kept garden with sunken patio for quick toilet breaks, but live close to a park so longer comfort breaks are taken there.
There is a secure bedroom for your dog with baby gate enclosing, which is fully tilted and steam cleaned between each boarder, as are all areas of access where your dog will be. Kitchen/diner, TV room, hall.
We have a high fence all around, and keep the only entrance to our property padlocked whenever we have boarders.

Exercise:

We walk twice a day included in price of stay for at least 30 - 45 mins. Comfort breaks in garden and cleaned afterward.
Outings to local parks and woods, and holiday experiences... i.e. paddling in local streams, and if allowed, ice cream on warm days, paddling pool on patio in hot weather and parasol shade.

Health & Hygiene:

If your dog needs drugs we keep a diary to ensure all medical needs are recorded.
We keep to instructed diet, unless otherwise allowed by owner.
We request owners bring dogs own dogs beds/cage, toys and blankets (can be washed a few days before, but must have at least 3 days impregnated with the smell of home) together with a jumper or tee shirt, worn and unwashed for about a week, to place under noses at night as a comfort blanket.

Home Boarding Prices

On request.
There are extensive terms and conditions which will need to be read and fully understood before first meet and greet.
We come to you to meet your dog, and discuss your requirements and assess your dogs response to us. If ok, you come to us to see the layout and to see if your dog seems comfortable with us in our home.
If we are all happy to proceed, I will pencil your dog in the diary, then a 25% deposit required soon after, or when someone else requests the dates you need.

Monthly payments are accepted, and if for reasonable cause cancelation is needed, 50% of your deposit will be returned to you. Or the full amount if the circumstance should necessitate it.

Other Services

Doggy Day Care is visiting the dog and walking them from their own home, not at our home.

Buddy has stayed with Catrina and Michael several times now and he absolutely loves going there. We receive regular videos and photos of his holiday escapades which is great. He's already booked in for next year. We can't recommend Woofs and Walks highly enough!! 👍😃

Our dog has "holidayed" at Woofs & Walks three times and am sure that he has thoroughly enjoyed himself on each occasion!! I have no doubt that he has been very well looked after and have no hesitation at all in recommending W & W.
