About our Small Pet Boarding

We board: RabbitsGuinea PigsBirdsReptilesHamsters, Mice etc.

My name is Sarah and have always worked in animal care winning awards for my high standards and achieving vet approval. I believe in giving the animals in our care space to live as nature intended and I'm a supporter of "a hutch is not enough campaign". You won't come to PetPals and see rows and rows of hutches and runs, we have a lot of space here and quite unique facilities and attract owners who loves their pets and only want the best for them. Please look at my Facebook page and website to see the many PetPal customer testimonials...we are very proud of the reputation we have built over the last 5 years!

For all enquiries please look at our website where you can book online or send us a contact form. or facebook:

We specialise in Rabbits to include house bunnies, Guinea Pigs, Chickens, Birds to include Parrots, Rodents to include Chinchillas, Degus, plus tortoises, small fish, even pet goats and other small farm animals plus much more - just ask!

We do tend to attract spoiled pets and we really wouldn't want it any other way! House bunnies are a speciality as we really can offer them a home from home holiday.

We have three acres of grounds with indoor and outdoor facilities with heating in our Pet Lodge and air conditioning for the summer months to keep our pets comfortable. My aim is to keep your pets in the lifestyle they are accustomed to at home, with routine, diet and care the same.

Within our pet proofed grounds we have our Glamping Lodges with Large Luxury and Standard Lodges available.

It's our aim to be the best pet boarding home home in Kent, to offer the pets the best of everything and to give our pet owners an even better holiday knowing their pet is having such a wonderful time.

I can offer your pet one to one individual attention and follow your preferred daily routine to include medical treatments. I have experience of disabled, deaf, blind, aggressive and pregnant rabbits and g.pigs so please feel free to discuss any special needs with me.

I appreciate how worrying it can be to leave your pet with a stranger and have testimonials from previous happy customers to put your mind at rest see our website ( and also our Facebook page where we are proud to be rated 5 star by our guests.

Just some of our testimonials, more the side of this page..

"Sarah really listened to how we wanted Pip cared for and when we collected her we could see how content she was, we think she was actually more sociable than when we had dropped her off and the children were over the moon with the photos" Michelle Bridges

"Thank you Sarah we loved the photo up-date and could see how beautifully Tom and Jerry had been cared for, Tom had never been so fluffy, we will be back next year" Kate Stoner

"Thank you for caring for our beloved Rosie during her final weeks, we knew she didn't have long to live but knowing you made her last few weeks happy when we could not be there meant a lot" Claire Thompson

"After sending my g.pigs to you I realised what a different service you gave me and my pets compared to other boarding homes, from e-mail up-dates with photos to the love you showed them, my mind was at ease for the month I was away and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending you or sending them back next year!" Pam Hutton

We are based in Ulcombe Village within easy access of Maidstone, Ashford, Cranbrook and Medway in a stunning countryside location with three acres of land and year round indoor and outdoor facilities for the pets to enjoy. It really is a peaceful retreat where your pet will get their every need met. We are always telling our owners, "just ask us, nothing is too much trouble". We attract owners who love their pets, who want nothing but the best for them and where the pet is a large part of their life. We have rabbits turning up with suitcases full of blankets and toys, guinea pigs with heated beds, parrots who have favourite late night snacks - you won't surprise us and we love it! We wouldn't have it any other way :)

To meet our owners high standards we have tried to offer various types of accommodation so that you can pick what you would like and what you feel is best suited to your pet. We have a large and airy brick building (Pet Lodge) with double glazed window overlooking the paddocks. Pet Lodge has heating and cool air options so that in both summer and winter months pets are comfortable.

For Rabbits and Guinea Pigs I have indoor and outdoor accommodation options.

For chickens I have coops that range in size but recommend the Extra Large Liberty Pens for 2+ birds.

Hamsters and other rodents are welcome, I would recommend bringing their usual accommodation to save changing their little worlds completely!

Birds - I regularly have parrots, budgies and other birds staying and I would if possible bring their own cages with them to keep them in the environment they know.

Tortoises - we have indoor and outdoor options.

Goats and Pigs - we have two stables and a large fully fenced concrete yard area with no way for them to escape. Each stable is 12x13 and has rubber flooring. We can offer shavings and straw beds and things for the goats to climb on and have fun!

If your pet has not been mentioned then please just ask!

Lodges: We have large enclosures offering access to their indoor and outdoor sections throughout the day which are completely covered with roofs so offer shelter from rain and sun but give the pets a feeling of freedom and overlook our grounds which they really seem to enjoy.

Indoor Enclosures - these range in size with the largest being 2mx1.5m and the pets love them. Fully heated or cool air options are available indoors to keep the pets comfortable.

Hamsters and other rodents follow their usual daily routine as instructed by their owner.

Birds - will follow their usual daily routine as instructed by their owner.

Health & Hygiene:

Pet quarters are cleaned daily and fully disinfected between guests using F10 and Vircon. We have always worked closely with Trinity a specialist vet and work to their recommendations to ensure we are doing everything we can to protect the pets in our care. The pets are spaced apart so that none are touching (unless they live together of course!) or come from the same home as sometimes our owners like them to see each other and touch. We use hand gel after handling a pet and before handling another. All bowls are disinfected. We also have foot dips between our paddocks and Petpals, rabbit proof fencing on our perimeter and electric between paddock and garden to deter foxes and cats. Pets have fresh air at all times and their heath is checked at every visit, they have a late night check and regular supervision as our house overlooks both the indoor accommodation and outdoor areas and with have CCTV with sound and excellent night vision around the property. We do everything we can to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the pets in our care and that is our priority.

To protect the pets in our care please ensure:

Your rabbit is vaccinated against Mxomatosis & VHD plus RVHD2 (the new vaccination!). The more recent your injections the higher the protection your rabbit has so some owners like to do this every 6 months but it must be within the last 12 months. Please bring your vaccination card with you.

Please note there is a new vaccination for RVHD2 a new strain of VHD which some owners and vets even haven't yet heard of, look on the RWAF website for details.

Vets: We have a vets open 27/7 just a few miles from us for your peace of mind as well as the rabbit specialist vet Trinity Vets in Maidstone who are also excellent with birds, small furies and guinea pigs and our village vet so there are lots of local options.

Always a hard decision to let someone else look after your beloved pets whilst on holiday but worry no more as PetPals were fantastic!! We had regular updates on how our chook was via email which was great to read out to the kids each day as they missed her terribly. Upon our return I could see our pet had been very well looked after, in a beautifully clean coop with plenty of food and water. Definitely use again - thoroughly recommend 👍🏼😃

Sarah looked after my chinchillas for 3 weeks in September 2015 and then again last year. Sarah was fantastic. Took time to understand our pets normal routine to limit the impact of a new environment on them - would absolutely recommend!

Our two bunnies, Cookie and Jessie, stayed at Pet Pals when we had our wedding. They had a lovely time in the indoor pens (out of the winter cold!). We loved receiving updates and photos from them. They were allowed to take their own familiar toys and were well looked after. I would highly recommend Pet Pals and we will be back!

Lovely setting, lovely lady! My girls are very well looked after here when we go away. Couldn't recommend this place enough.

Great place, excellent care given by Sarah and brilliant boarding facilities. I left my 3 precious bunnies there earlier this year, very good accommodation and they were very well looked after. In fact I think Sarah looks after them better than I do. Teddy, Daisy and Poppy are booked in for Christmas and I can happily leave them there knowing that they are in he best of care. I would not leave them anywhere else.

We boarded our two rabbits (Marshmallow and Cupcake) over the Easter holidays. We opted for the pick-up and drop service. Sarah was very friendly when she came to pick up the rabbits and kept us informed how the rabbits were settling in and with photos so we happy to know that the rabbits were well looked after. We will be using Sarah again when we go away in August

Sarah looked after Bugs and Ginger really well. She took the time to find out about their routine and likes and dislikes. They were also let out in the runs which was good. I will certainly be using Sarah again.

When we met Sarah we knew our young nervous guinea pigs would be well looked after. She was very reassuring about their care and it was obvious that she loves animals. Sarah answered our texts whilst we were away which was settling and appreciated. Upon their return our nervous guinea pigs were calm and happy and we were able to handle them for first time. We are so grateful for the one to one attention that Sarah has given to our pets and we will most definitely send them on holidays there again. Many thanks.

Our male rabbit Brownie was very well cared for during our two week holiday, and seemed to enjoy meeting the other residents. Would definitely recommend and use again.

We left our 2 male bunnies with Sarah for a weekend and they had a great time. Sarah was keen to keep them in their normal routine and genuinely cared about their welfare. We even received a photo update of their stay! Would definitely bring our boys back again!

Just collected Milleau from Sarah. What a wonderful holiday home she has for rabbits. Excellent facilities and she treats each rabbit as if it were her own. Very highly recommended for anyone wishing to board their rabbit whilst going away. Thank you Sarah.

My daughter makes us drive from London to drop her pets with Sarah but it's worth it as we have a worry free holiday and a happy teen!! One of the rabbits had an eye problem while we were away and Sarah took him to the vets and kept us informed, the vet said it had been caught early and we couldn't have asked for more he made a complete recovery and we now know he will be prone to this and what to do thanks to Sarah's help. We highly recommend.
