About Our Boarding Service:
At Bunny Vacations we are a young, professional, friendly couple offering a caring and personalised holiday home for your rabbit, guinea pig, or other small pet.
We are a small set-up and have chosen to be that way so that we can offer your pet the high standards they deserve. We view your pet as an individual person and wish to avoid the common 'production line' style of boarding. We dedicate time to give your pet plenty of attention and cuddles while they are with us.
We have both had rabbits and guinea pigs from a young age as well as cats and horses. We now have a family of four rabbits after our male and female had babies. Amber is a Netherland dwarf and Toby is a Mini-lop. Does that make Simba and Baloo a Netherlop or a Mini-dwarf?? They are all much loved (often spoilt) members of the family and are happy, healthy and friendly.
We are a professional couple, both with enhanced CRB checks through our employers.
Accommodation:
Your pet would be housed in one of our large, clean and cosy 5ft 2" x 1.5ft hutches or double storey 3ft x 1.5ft hutches. The hutches are kept in a dry and secure shed so out of the weather but with a window for natural light.
All animals are housed / in runs individually unless they are bonded pairs at home.
In the hutch we supply plenty of your pets usual bedding (fresh straw, shavings etc) which will be changed regularly during your pet's stay. For food we offer fresh good quality hay, vegetables and ready grass. We do ask that you provide a supply of your pet's usual food to avoid a sudden change to their diet.
We also welcome rats, hamsters, gerbils and mice in their own houses. If you have a less usual small pet not mentioned here please contact us to discuss if they are also someone we could accommodate.
Exercise:
Your pet will have daily access to a run in our large lawned garden. We have runs of various sizes, from 5ft 3" x 3ft to 6ft x 4ft all offer plenty of room for running and playing and shade for those sunny days.
We have sufficient runs for all guests so there is no rotating of guests into runs during the day - weather permitting everyone has the use of their run all day.
At times of prolonged bad weather preventing outside exercise, we are happy to bring guests into our home for a leg stretch on the floor in a secure bunny friendly room.
Health & Hygiene:
All hutches are fully cleaned between guests using a pet friendly disinfectant. Water bottles, food bowls and toys are also thoroughly cleaned.
Hutches are fully cleaned out regularly during your pet's stay. Guests are invited to take advantage of our free nail clipping service. Grooming is also offered as part of their daily routine.
All our own rabbits are fully vaccinated against myxomatosis and VHD. In the interest of the safety of all our guests we insist that every guest is fully vaccinated and up-to-date vaccination cards are shown before/ on arrival. Please note that vaccinations are given 2 weeks apart and the last vaccination must be taken a minimum of 2 weeks prior to boarding.
We all know that our pets can become ill and usually at the least convenient time. If your pet does become ill and requires the vet we will take them to our vet, or your own if they are local. However you would be liable for any vet fees.
If your pet is currently on medication we are able to administer this.
Small Pet Boarding Tarif
Rabbits:
£4 per hutch per day.
Two rabbits sharing a hutch £6 per day.
Guinea pigs:
£3 per hutch per day.
Two sharing a hutch £4.50 per day.
Three sharing a hutch £6 per day.
Rats in own cage:
£2.50 per cage per day.
Plus £1.25 per day for each additional rat in same cage.
Hamsters/ Gerbils/ Mice in own cage:
£1.50 per cage per day.
Plus 75p per day for each additional animal in same cage.
We ask for a 20% deposit on booking and the remainder is payable on check in.
We are taking bookings for Christmas. Prices for Christmas day and Boxing day are +50% of standard daily rate. We do not charge any extra for any other bank holidays throughout the year.
