About our Home Boarding

Because we take no more than two dogs at any one time, we are able to give each one a true home-from-home experience where he or she will feel both happy and secure. A preliminary visit also ensures that, when the time comes for a longer stay, your dog is familiar with these new surroundings and so settles down more quickly. By bringing their own beds, food bowls and food, our visitors have familiar smells, comfort and diet to make them feel even more at home.
We do not take dogs under one year old
We do not take un-neutered dogs, except on medical grounds.
We do not take certain breeds - ask us which these are.

Whether over the surrounding fields and countryside, through the village with its enticing smells of local pig farms (!) or in Graylingwell Park in Chichester, walks are the highlight of the day for our doggy visitors. Walks are tailored to each dog's needs with three for the very active and less for older citizens!

Health & Hygiene:

Owners are asked to give very full details as to their dog's dietary and health needs and we keep very closely to these guidelines. Wherever required, we also dispense medication and keep a careful watch where there are health issues. We ask that all dogs staying here are fully vaccinated and micro-chipped.

Nicky and Barbara are the most amazing couple we all love them to bits :) Gemma our very spoilt retriever gets even more spoilt on her hols and we can totally relax knowing she's in very safe hands. They have been so accommodating I cannot recommend them enough .We have never left her with anyone before and we slowly built up her relationship with them now having no problem leaving her feel like we have doggy grandparents now.

Huggs (our cockerpoo) loves visiting Barbara and Nick - her first visit was when she was just 6 months old and she is now approaching 4. When ever we leave Huggs it feels like she is going on her own holiday, which means we can relax on our short break/holiday knowing she is having a great time and in the best possible care. I would give a 10 star rating (if it existed) and highly recommend to all!

Nick and Barbara, two of the most charming people you could hope to meet, adore dogs and dogs adore them. They have looked after my elderly Golden Retriever several times over the past 2 years and he is always treated as if he is one of their own. Indeed, I suspect that he would almost prefer to stay with them than come home with me! During his last stay he became extremely ill (an ongoing chronic problem with arthritis) and nothing was too much trouble, including several trips to the vet. I have no hesitation in highly recommending them.

We are so relieved to find Barbara and Nicky. It is well worth the drive from Teddington to know that Freddie and Evie are both happy and well cared and really do have a Home away from Home whilst we are away.

I have used Nick and Barbara home boarding for my dog Maizie several times. They take a genuine interest and concern for the dog and treat each one as a special individual. It is literally "home from home" and she always returns home very relaxed, in excellent condition which means I can enjoy my holiday without worrying that Maizie is fretting. I would have no hesitation in recommending Nick and Barbara to anyone looking for a home environment for their dog's holiday. Julie collins October 2014

We had booked our holiday months in advance, Floyd our Chocolate Labrador who is 10 years old, who always stayed with a vey close friend when we went away, sadly had a stroke and was no longer capable of looking after him.... we visited kennels and came away very concerned at how Floyd would cope without us and living in a cage for 12 days! After visiting the vets i looked thru their petsitting folder, pulled out a few adverts to investigate..... am very pleased we decided to visit Barbara & Nick Swanson...... Such a lovely couple who welcomed Floyd and us of course into their home.... Floyd had an overnight visit and a day visit before the big holiday..... He had the best time ever, 24/7 love and attention....... Nick and Barbara provided a home from home environment for Floyd. He met some new canine friends from next door, and even had a holiday romance! Nick and Barbara had a very calming effect on Floyd, he came home a very happy boy..... Floyd has since stayed again overnight, and quite happy to let us leave him....... Floyd is already booking himself in for next years holiday! : ) Floyd says........A definite must place to stay 5*****s woof woof............

My husband, two children and I booked a much-needed holiday and needed to put our beloved dog Blue, a five-year-old labrador, into kennels. We have put him into kennels before and, being a very sensitive dog, he has come back distressed and dishevelled. Then we heard about Nick and Barbara Swanson who provide a 'home from home' environment for dogs. I initially visited their home, with Blue, and was delighted to see...that it was very rural and peaceful. Nick and Barbara are an incredibly accommodating and gentle couple and team, and...have the ability to understand each dog's needs. Blue went to them for his holiday and when we came back he was calm, in beautiful condition and had lost a few pounds as Nick takes the dogs out two or three times a day. Since being back, Blue has calmed down a great deal and we do not hesitate to recommend the Swanson's service. To them it's not just a business but there is a real, genuine care for each individual dog and they treat them as there own. would I use them again? Without hesitation.
