PetStay (Harrogate, York & North Leeds)

I have used Petstay for the second time whilst we went away on holiday. The first time was when Sally had the York franchise, and secondly with Tracy linfoot. Initially both my dogs were due to stay with the same carer as last year and a week before we were due to fly one of my dogs was diagnosed with seizures we thought it would be better to separate them, and this is where Tracy stepped in. I can't praise Tracy enough she took up on herself to care for Pippa, she collected her from my son's home the day after we went in Holiday due to already having a dog in her care and having to wait until the owners collected their dog. She kept me up to date whilst we were away reasuring me that Pippa had settled in well, and also informed me to collect her on our return at a later time than we'd agreed due to York races and the volume of traffic. Tracy is a pleasure to deal with, very professional and I cannot recommend her highly enough. Thank you Tracy keep up the good work See you in December!

I first contacted Petstay a couple of years ago when we needed someone to look after our dog Poppy while we went on holiday as we would not be happy to put her in kennels. My son had always looked after her but he was about to move to America. I searched the internet for alternatives to kennels and found Petstay, I contacted Sally who was very efficient, getting back to me straight away and after asking a few questions about Poppy's needs she put us in touch with John and Frances and we haven't looked back since. At our initial meeting it was obvious that John and Frances loved dogs and Poppy seemed very happy and comfortable with them. Even though we knew they would look after her well we were still very apprehensive about leaving her, but we needn't have worried she thoroughly enjoyed her time with them and John emailed photos of Poppy to put our minds at rest. Poppy requires medication and it is never an inconvenience to John and Frances to administer her tablets. Poppy has now stayed with John and Frances five times and she bounds happily into their home, always pleased to see them again, when we drop her off. It is obvious to us that John and Frances love having Poppy to stay (even though she is a demon with their mail!!) We can rest assured that when Poppy stays with John and Frances that she is happy and content and she will be back to stay in the summer. We wanted a home from home environment for our dog as we were embarking on an epic journey for over three weeks on a family holiday to China! Wow what a great service we got from PetStay right from the start - from my first enquiry to finding a suitable potential home very quickly and then setting up a meeting with Liz and then smooth payment and clear instructions. The form to complete about Pippy’s daily routine and preferences was very comprehensive and made discussions when I met Liz really useful so we were both clear about what Pippy needed. This is our first family dog and the first time we had left him for any time. But we need not have worried - he was already starting to settle in, Liz and Malcolm had got things all planned and sorted and Pippy was already having a good time. A phone call when I got home really reassured me and put my mind at rest. Also texts whilst we were away were very reassuring. Meeting up with Pippy again when we got back went really well - lots of yelps, licks and jumping about when he caught sight of us! At the same time Pippy was obviously happy and settled and looked really good. And an added and unexpected lovely touch was to be given a few snapshot photos taken during his stay showing him clearly having a great time! So overall - delighted. Would we use PetStay again? - definitely, would we recommend Liz and Malcolm - most definitely and will we tell our friends how happy we were with the service - Definitely YES!

I would just like to thank you for all your help in securing Bertie a 'home from home' experience whilst we were on holiday for two weeks. Bertie is a very gentle and loving dog who doesn't suit kennels, so when we were unable to find someone to care for him, you came to our rescue. From the outset you were diligent in finding the right carer for our Pointer and arranged a meeting so that we felt comfortable in where he would be staying. The carer was perfect and Bertie was happy and relaxed when we went to collect him. He had had such a brilliant time I think he wanted to stay! Thank you so much and I would certainly have no hesitation in recommending PetStay.

What a relief to find an alternative to boarding kennels - we were delighted with the loving, comfortable and caring home that PetStay found for our elderly blind poodle for the three weeks whilst we adventured in Australia. We were very happy with this arrangement and would use PetStay again in the future. Penny had a lovely time and enjoyed being part of a family who cared for her, played with her and treated her as if she was at home.
