About our Boarding Kennel

Brand new, purpose built, family run Boarding Kennels and Daycare Centre now open in the Nantlle Valley.

Ran by myself, Rhian Lewis with the support of my husband Keith, who between us have many years dog handling experience, providing professional care for your dog.

My pride and joy are my Welsh Springer Spaniels, which we have now had for over 10 years. We currently have four bitches... Molly, Menna, Megan and baby Begw who was sired by 2014 Crufts best of breed winner Sh Ch Svk Ch Pennylock Rhys Over Nyliram JW ShCM.

I 'dabble' in the show ring, but due to family and work commitments, have been unable to enter as many shows as I would like. I enjoy the challenge of training the girls and have entered assessment tests and a Field Trial in the past with great success, but time constraint is an issue as training a gundog (or any dog really) takes a lot of time and perseverance!!!

I have now given up work to bring up the family, and to concentrate on the new venture of a quality boarding kennelling and doggy day care establishment.

Keith trains his own working Bearded Collies and works them on the family farm, something he has done for the past 20 years.

What a beautiful place and Rhian is absolutely lovely with the dogs, (Mia and Poppy)you couldn't wish for a better person and place to leave you precious dogs, she loves them like they're her own, totally love this place and our dogs (now dog, sadly Poppy died) loved it so much there, I think sometimes they didn't want to come home. Mia is now due another visit and Rhian makes an extra special fuss of her now Poppy isn't with her...Reccommend 101% from Steve and Carol

I cannot recommend the Kennels highly enough! I left my Alaskan Malamute-Ayesha for the first time some months ago, and was hugely impressed at the cleanliness of the kennels and the amount of dedicated care that she received. I will be leaving her again shortly and have no qualms whatsoever in doing so. The prices are very reasonable and the standards exceptional. Grateful Thanks-Completely Satisfied!

We'd like to thank Rhian and her husband Keith for looking after our Two boys Guto and Bychan,(16-08-2016) as it was their first time in kennels and they really seemed to have enjoyed their stay, we would be more than happy to leave our boys with Rhian in the future,we would highly recommend Rhian and her kennel, as she treats all the dogs as her own. Thank you so much, Dafydd, Janice, Guto and Bychan.

My husband and I were nervous leaving our 18 month old shih tzu in kennels for 4 nights. He has been for the day and one night and loved being there. When we picked him up after 4 nights he was so happy there we couldn't get him to leave. Rhian obviously loves dogs and she is fantastic with them. Lovely clean place with a fantastic grassed area ttached to the kennels for the dogs to play. Thank you Rhian.

Rhian and her husband are brilliant. My father was taken ill suddenly, I rang them up after finding them on here, they went to my fathers house within an hour to collect Meg (a very active golden lab) and was very supportive with us. Dad was in hospital for over 4 weeks. It was very comforting to know Meg was in safe hands, and was nice to be able to ring her whenever we wanted to see how she was. I now bring my dog, Mili to her, Mili likes Rhian a lot and when i take her there, the welcome Rhian gives her is really nice to see.

Being an overprotective and nervous human mother to our special girl Nell , I felt so at ease when Rhian met us at the gate it was obvious from the get go that Rhian was professional and passionate about her kennels. The initial handover was very smooth and I felt I'd known Rhian for years. Nell is diabetic and requires insulin twice a day which was no problem . It was clear to see today that Nell had been spoilt this week as when we picked her up instead of trying to pull me away from the kennels Nell was happy to go over to Rhian for a last minute fuss. Nell can't wait to go back for her holidays as it was definitely a 5 star doggy hotel , I would highly recommend Rhian and her amazing kennels . Thank you so much Nell and family

Wavell (miniature wire-haired dachshund) and Molly (terrier x) were the first residents at Drws-y-Coed and have been back several times for stays from between a couple of days up to two weeks. We have always been delighted with the care they get from Rhian and they are always happy to return, in fact they get quite excited when they arrive! They have their toys, care is taken with their diet and they get walked on their flexi-leads every day. We can't recommend the kennels highly enough.

We are a specialist canine company delivering all manner of services to some of the most prestigious organisations in the country. Occasionally we have to put our dogs into kennels and have visited many establishments that aim to provide the kind of service we do. Rhian and her team are exactly what we are after, the dogs are enriched by their stay and ready to work that for us is crucial. Five star operation and high paws all round!!

I was very nervous about leaving my Westie and my Scottie in kennels, especially as my Westie needs her medication. Rhian is a warm very friendly lady who obviously cares about dogs. Molly and Flora loved her. I will most definitely use her kennels again.

Very friendly and very helpful; we would definitely recommend Drws-y-Coed to anyone. We left Alfie for the day so we could take the train ride up Snowdon and were really pleased with how friendly, professional and clean everything was. Not only did he have a really good kennel space, but he also had an on-lead walk in beautiful farmland. Thanks Rhian :)

Fantastic kennels, would definately use again and recommend to anyone else. Copper, our spoilt and very nervous spaniel was made to feel very welcome and settled in quickly. Picked her up earlier and she's slept all evening! Nott often you see a tired springer, thanks Rhian, she obviously enjoyed her stay.

Both Morgan and Bella stayed at Drws y Coed kennels for nearly 2weeks during this summer and we were very impressed with the kennels both with the accomodation and the care they received from Rhian and her family. Although they have been spoilt at home they were completely happy when we went for them. Also it was very nice to be greeted so warmly by Rhian on our arrival with the dogs.We will certainly be using Drws y Coed Kennels again.
